The Role: 

We are seeking a Manager for Software Platform and Testing who will support GKN ePowertrain AWD/eDrive Product development. In this role the person shall manage Software Platform & Test local department for software requirements, architecture and qualification testing for the life cycle of the project. 

 Key responsibilities include: 

• Lead software requirement specification, architecture and testing team locally according to development processes which meet the requirements of GKN ASPICE and ISO26262.
• Support resource management and skills management
  • Enable the development of team members to understand and implement the customer and project requirements
  • Ensure expected team-member capabilities are developed and support development of essential competencies and qualifications through coaching and trainings.
• Manage definition and implementation of GKN standards and common tools.
• Drive re-use and requirements-based/architectural-driven development.
• Ensure software requirement specification, design and testing are delivered as per agreed timelines, cost and meet quality target. 
• Ensure software quality and manufacturing readiness.
• Ensure software release and reporting are aligned to customer expectations.
• Manage budget, headcount, and CAPEX in line with plan.
• Support GKN strategies and innovation.
• Support RFI/RFQ activities on software level.
• Develop local suppliers and engineering partners.
• Foster innovation (invention disclosures, methods, tools).
• Foster efficient collaboration with engineering and functional partners within the organization.

Who you’ll be: 

To be successful in this position, you will have proven experience in Automotive domain and hands on experience in developing software based on AUTOSAR architecture

Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge and Skills Required

Essential Skills

• Engineering or Post Graduate Engineering degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Comupter Science.
• Minimum 10 years of Engineering experience in Automotive.
• Minimum 4 years of leadership experience (line or project with minimum 5 reports) with good decision making, conflict management and negotiation skills. 
• Experience in developing essential competencies for team members.
• Knowledge in automotive standards such as ISO 26262 and Automotive SPICE.
• Proven communication, teamwork and organizational capabilities.
• Skilled handling of customers and suppliers.
• Compliance matrix and RFQ handling experience.
• Experience of working in Continuous Integration & Deployment environment.   

Tool Skills

• PTC Integrity or equivalent
• EasyRedmine or equivalent

Language Skills

Must be fluent in English
