We are seeking a seasoned Manager to oversee our growing team of Software Configuration Engineers and QA Engineers for the Optiqs360 Digital platform, based in Chennai, India. As the Manager, you will be responsible for guiding a mid-sized team of around 8 engineers to start with, ensuring smooth workflows, managing timelines, and driving technical excellence. The team is expected to grow in the future as the platform evolves and new challenges arise. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software development and testing environments, be detail-oriented and meticulous, and have a solid understanding of agile methodologies to facilitate project progress and scope estimation.
This role is crucial to the success of the Optiqs360 Digital platform, and you will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering, Life Sciences.
Experience & Skills Desired
Strong experience managing or leading development and QA teams in a software environment.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience leading teams through agile processes (scrum, sprints, etc.).
Proven track record of monitoring progress, ensuring project timelines are met, and addressing potential blockers or challenges.
Technical knowledge of software development and testing processes to help better understand project scope, provide accurate estimates, and communicate effectively with technical teams.
Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to track multiple moving parts.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams, encourage collaboration, and foster a positive team environment.
Prior experience managing teams involved in SaaS or cloud-based solutions.
Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar software.
Experience with or knowledge of software configuration processes, QA automation tools, and general software testing practices.
A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement, with a focus on team growth and technical excellence.
Oversee and manage a mid-sized team of Software Configuration Engineers and QA Engineers, starting with around 8 members, with potential for team expansion as the platform grows.
Collaborate with the Vice President of Engineering and other stakeholders to align team efforts with the overall business strategy and project goals.
Ensure the team follows agile best practices, including planning, sprint management, and continuous feedback loops to deliver high-quality results.
Monitor project progress, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within scope.
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering an environment of collaboration, technical growth, and continuous learning.
Use your technical knowledge to help break down complex tasks, scope projects, and set realistic timelines for completion.
Facilitate communication between development, QA, and other teams to ensure that all aspects of the platform development and testing processes are well-coordinated.
Report team performance, risks, and opportunities to the VP of Engineering, ensuring transparency and alignment with the organization’s strategic initiatives.
