Job Location: DHL Global Forwarding, Freight (DGFF) GSC, India (Mumbai)


As a Customer Program Manager with Shipment Management service line at DHL Global Forwarding Freight (DGFF) Global Service Center (GSC), you will be responsible for monitoring, auditing, and reporting on compliance and service quality. Collaborate with customers and other stakeholders. Drive continuous improvements. Participate in customizing and designing solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the overall account and ensure SLA & Contractual Agreements are in line.
  • Manage transformation on regional level of the customer into the desired to-be situation based on 5 pillars

  • Solves issues that global control tower cannot solve, manages escalations and solves structural issues/disruptions
  • Customer centric management to deliver client needs
  • Lead customer projects and support operations in conjunction with customer and IT
  • Creates & maintains SOPs for transportation lanes
  • Adhere to SOPs and SLA Contractual Agreeements
  • Adhere to Air/Ocean general KPIs
  • Co-ordinate logistics service to the project up to destination(s)
  • Co-ordinate communication between Service Providers and DHL
  • Co-ordinate operation and logistic teams at key locations, in close co-operation Project Manager
  • Liaise closely with other locations to ensure strong communication links are maintained
  • Liaise, in close co-operation with service providers to co-ordinate transport of cargo from ports of entry to final destination
  • Ground level logistics planning
  • Participate in co-ordination of all shipments
  • Support team members during peak periods in different areas of operation when required
  • Reviewing KPI’s with Project Manager to identify areas of improvement.
  • Ensure project compliance with Customs and other shipping regulations
  • Co-operate, and work very closely with other team members in other locations.
  • Attend meetings with entire Logistics Team to give all members the opportunity to receive information and give feedback where required.
  • Provide motivation and drive to deliver the above in an integrated team environment and proactively contribute towards all activities to meet the Projects overall objectives.
  • Deliver and develop KPI for each leg movement and deliver the service performance.
  • Recommend process improvement ideas for the trade lane and conclude in discussion with DGF Country Team.
  • Maintain the GSC service performance for the role with key attribute delivery to Quality.
  • Clearly define the in scope and out scope for project operations.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Graduate (Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in any discipline)
  • Management Qualification (preferable)
  • Min 5- 8 Years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience into logistics operations ( Ocean / Air Freight in specific)
  • Expertise with transport management (CBM calculations and container selection).
  • Knowledge of market trends and rates to assimilate best efficient logistics service.
  • End to end contract logistics knowledge starting from rates management to last mile delivery
  • Strong knowledge of process efficiencies and First choice tools like GEMBA , KAIZEN , Paretto etc.
  • Excellent Communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-Learning and Development
  • Good People management, analytical and organizational Skills along with Project Management Skills
  • Good logistics solution development knowledge; experience in international logistics; capable of complex supply chain related analysis.
  • Ability to lead across teams to accomplish key deliverables in a dynamic and global environment of multiple priorities, cultures and different time zones.
  • Operational expertise and experience to overcame challenges and simplify complex expedited supply-chain solutions to existing and new customers.
  • Tenacity to see things through and overcome issues and problems; confidence while talking with clients, suppliers, or contractors.
  • Possess politeness, tact, patience and diplomacy while dealing with complex problems and customers.
  • Ability to instigate and develop relationships with customers and third-party service providers.
  • Problem solver, thinker and analyzer with the ability to understand and respond to rapidly changing customer needs.
  • Organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects, objectives and deadlines Strong work ethic; dedicated, enthusiastic, resourceful.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player attitude with ability to work independently Positive outlook, strong communication, listening and problem-solving skills, strong verbal & writing skills.
  • Flexible scheduling – ability to work non-standard business hours on occasion.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal), additional language(s) a plus.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office 365 applications a plus.
