Your New Role:
As a Manager, Residuals Solutions, you willbe responsible for developing,testing and deploying scalable and efficient software applications built on Java and DB2 and hosted on AWS cloud. Collaborate closely with technical leads and other programmers toidentify and prioritize requirements and ensure high quality delivery of software products.Work closely with stakeholders, product managers, and development teams to design and implement scalable, high-performance applications and mentor team members and ensure that coding standards and best practices are followed.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Leadership and Team Management
Lead a team of developers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
Organize team meetings to plan sprints, track progress, and resolve blockers.
Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, performance optimization, and maintainability.
Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders regarding technical updates and deliverables.
Requirement Gathering and Collaboration
Collaborate with stakeholders such as business analysts, product managers, and QA teams to gather and clarify business requirements.
Participate in requirement analysis sessions to understand guild-specific rules, payment structures, and compliance needs.
Translate functional requirements into detailed technical designs.
Work cross-functionally to align technical deliverables with business goals.
Build, Test and Deploy
Design and implement distributed, microservices-based architectures using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
Develop and optimize complex business logic for residuals processing workflows.
Create and maintain robust backend systems capable of handling high transaction volumes.
Lead efforts in optimizing database queries, schema design, and application performance tuning.
Conduct hands-on coding
Write and execute unit tests – both manual and automated
Perform integration testing and debugging
Participate in SOX and internal audit testing
Build, Configure and test continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
Review and analyze build and deployment logs
Monitor and troubleshoot deployment issues across all the environments
Application Support
Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions to incidents.
Analyze logs and metrics to proactively identify system bottlenecks and implement solutions.
Ensure robust failover mechanisms, fault tolerance, and high availability in production systems.
Learning, Research, Innovation, and Adoption of New Technologies
Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve system efficiency and scalability.
Explore advancements in cloud computing, containerization, and security to modernize infrastructure.
Implement proof-of-concept (PoC) projects to evaluate potential system upgrades.
Attend in-person/online-trainings/conferences to improve skills
Qualifications & Experiences:
10-12 years of experience in Java development with advanced knowledge of Java 8+, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Hibernate. (media, entertainment, business development or streaming services industry experience a plus)
10 - 12 years of hands-on implementation or operational experience with Residuals and/or Music Royalty payments
8 - 10 years of production support or software development experience
8 - 10years of experience in building software applications using Java, DB2 and AWS
Strong Hands-on experience with relational databases (DB2, Oracle) and writing SQL queries
Handson experience in developing solutions on AWScloud platforms
Strong experience with messaging systems AWS SQS and RESTful APIs.
Experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies and version control systems such as Git and CICD pipelines
Strong understanding of Software development life cycles, including design, development, testing and deployment
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Certifications in Java or AWS is a plus
Expert user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to prepare all documents, presentations, graphs, briefings, and worksheets
Excellent written and verbal communication
Work collaboratively w/small teams
Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently
