Job Description


About the Role:


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Logistics, Asia South, you are responsible for managing the logistic activities and service providers (LSP) in the ISC region to ensure that supply chain standards and objectives are met, while fulfilling the company’s commitments to its customers and delivery specifications. This includes ensuring efficient warehouse management, managing inbound stock shipments to various warehouses and DIT(delay in transit) hubs, and overseeing inventory management to optimize capacity utilization. Additionally, you will manage outbound shipments to fulfill export and ex-works orders, optimize logistic costs, and enhance customer experience according to regional strategies and service levels.


Your role also involves providing volume forecasts, validating routes and lead time requirements for global shipping contracts, and addressing operational issues related to warehouse and shipping performance. You will support and execute business requirements in the ISC region with a designed network setup to achieve business plans on a monthly and annual basis. Furthermore, you will monitor and maintain required sea shipping networks, ensure a safe and excellent HSE standard in warehouses, and drive assigned logistics projects to achieve agreed objectives and milestones.


This position is based in Mumbai.


Inventory Management / Control


  • Responsible for the accuracy of inventory records, stock counting and inventory management activities in the warehouse
  • Manage and facilitate bi-annual stock take by ADP finance and external auditors
  • Responsible for aging inventory clearance in the warehouse, take the lead to communicate and follow up with commercial team to perform actions accordingly
  • Responsible for inventory adjustment validation, send justification for management approval
  • Responsible for inventory adjustment in the system after management approval
  • Review and monitor inventory projection to ensure enough capacity and manpower from LSPs to handle the operation

Logistics Operations


  • Active participation in logistics projects, manage logistics issues and be focal point for investigation and communication
  • Responsible and monitor KPI achievement on monthly basis, propose ideas and actions to close performance gap
  • Manage and deliver assignments within given timeline, i.e. digitalization initiative trial and feedback related to LSPs and shipping lines; material handling initiative trial and feedback related to LSPs and customers, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure agreed procedures, cost effectiveness and operation excellence

Warehouse Operations


  • Manage LSPs in the ISC region to ensure efficient warehouse management, handle inbound and outbound shipments, and optimize capacity utilization.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on Material Handling operations, propose solutions to increase productivity and safety, and lead monthly coordination meetings.
  • Investigate claims and complaints related to LSP performance, implement corrective actions, and work on improvement ideas for operational efficiency.
  • Monitor fixed and variable capacity utilization, send justifications for approval when needed, and align with LSPs for continuous improvement

Supply Chain Contracts


  • Prepare warehouse contract proposals, participate in the tendering process, and recommend shortlisted bidders.
  • Involved in contract technical evaluations, ensure qualified LSPs, and manage service level agreements for operational excellence.
  • Verify LSP invoices for accurate logistics costs, manage Ariba payments, and maintain LSP user access to the Borouge system.
  • Implement new systems/initiatives related to LSPs, follow up on processes, provide necessary training, and seek regular feedback for timely gap closing

Shipping Management


  • Manage shipping performance based on global shipping contracts to optimize logistic costs and enhance customer experience according to regional strategies.
  • Provide volume forecasts, validate routes and lead time requirements for global shipping contract activities.
  • Play a key role in shipping contract evaluations, including technical evaluations of carrier performance and feedback on regional business requirements.
  • Monitor and manage shipping line performance monthly, lead meetings with carriers to address operational gaps, and provide comprehensive logistics analysis for decision-making.
  • Propose solutions for shipping crises, manage container flow in transit hubs, engage with port authorities, and address customer issues with shipping lines

About You:


  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or any equivalent qualifications
  • Fluency in English Language; written and oral
  • Basic degree, warehouse management and shipping knowledge is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 - 15 years of total experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, and Warehouse Operations
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain theories and practices
  • Knowledge of Project Management, strong in Reporting and Presentations
  • Knowledge of Logistics Network Modeling software, Windows, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in material handling and shipping lines
  • Good knowledge of logistics processes, standards and procedures
  • Experience of supporting large scale project is preferred
  • Interest and experience with IT systems and digitalization tools
