Manager – Global Commercial Pipeline Analytics
Position Overview:

Within our commercial Insights, Analytics, and Data organization we are transforming to better power decision-making across our end-to-end commercialization process, from business development to late lifecycle management.
Global Commercial Pipeline Analytics (GCPA) is a global function encompassing pharmaceutical asset commercial analytics and insights across the product lifecycles of all assets within Human Health (General Pharma, Oncology, Vaccines, Hospital Specialty / Primary care). Assets include early and late-stage molecules in clinical development, companies under considerations by business development for partnering and/ or acquisition as well as currently launched products. Analytics and insights deliverables support division planning and decision making across multiple functional areas such as finance, manufacturing, product development and commercial. In addition to ensuring high-quality deliverables, our team drives synergies across divisions, fosters innovation and best practices, and creates solutions to bring speed, scale and shareability to our planning processes. As we endeavor, we are seeking a dynamic talent for the role of “Manager – Global Commercial Pipeline Analytics.”
The candidate will lead a team of therapy area and capability development experts to conceptualize, develop, implement, and evolve existing and new analytics and insights capabilities and frameworks across teams. We are looking for an expert modeler with prior experience in patient analytics, commercial analytics and strategic planning using to drive transformation of analytics and insights capabilities, including but not limited to web-based model development, simulation capabilities, and automated reporting and dashboarding. Other important aspects for success include:
- Familiarity with major therapeutic areas including General Pharma (Immunology, Neurology, Cardiometabolic space), Oncology, and Vaccines
- Familiarity with various patient analytics modeling methods including Line of Therapy (LoT analytics)
- Experience in various pharmaceutical databases and syndicated reports.
- Strong internal networking / collaboration skills
- Project management skills
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and regulatory environments. Use this knowledge to provide strategic insights and guidance to drive pipeline strategies.
- Possess a strong background in analytics with the ability to manipulate, analyze, and visualize complex data sets. Utilize advanced analytics tools and techniques to derive actionable insights and support decision making.
- Assist in the development of global pipeline strategies by leveraging insights from patient analytics, patient journey analytics, and therapeutic area expertise. Provide strategic guidance based on market trends, patient needs, and emerging therapeutic advancements.
- Disease State Awareness & Deep Understanding of Data: Develop a deep understanding of specific disease areas and their impact on patients. Have a thorough understanding of available data assets, their pros. and cons., and how they can be effectively utilized to derive insights and drive strategy.
- Collaboration and Connector: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, commercial, market access, and medical affairs. Act as a connector and bring together the right functional groups to solve business problems and drive initiatives to completion.
- Problem Solver & Consultative Thought Partner: Break down complex business problems into solvable chunks and develop practical solutions. Serve as a consultative thought partner, providing guidance and recommendations based on data-driven insights.
- Lead development and execution of all modeling capabilities within GCPA by collaborating and prioritizing work across teams (IR&F, Marketing, Strategy, BD/ early pipeline groups)
- Assess the strategic and operational feasibility of new solutions and technology leveraging digital capabilities to meet the changing demands of analytics and insights in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Thought partner in selecting appropriate technologies and capabilities, given the business requirements. Drive solutioning and technology selection for patient modeling requirements in collaboration with transformation Lead based out of US and global.
- Drive insights, analytics standardization, simplification, and evolution of capabilities within the GCPA team by collaborating across HHDDA (Human Health Digital, Data & Analytics)
- Communicate effectively across stakeholders, and proactively identify and resolve conflicts and prioritize work by engaging with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage delivery of analytics and insights capabilities, tools, and models in a timely manner with allocated resources
- Guide and advise the GCPA team as an SME on various solutions, and capabilities to help set-up industry leading practice.
- Empower a growth mindset and inspire a culture of continual learning that strives for greater quality, efficiency, and innovation, ultimately improving team productivity and work product.
- Expected span of control (10+ employees); in addition to this, participate in selection, talent development and trainings of our company employees.
Required Experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Advanced degree (MS) in Engineering, Pharmacy or Life science, healthcare analytics, business analytics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working with Life Sciences companies with 3+ years in analytics and insights and/or data & analytics function in the pharmaceutical industry, with specific experience in pipeline analytics or related fields.
- Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, market dynamics, and regulatory environments.
- Analytics Acumen: Excellent analytics acumen, with expertise in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization using tools such as SQL, R, Python, PowerBI, ThoughtSpot or similar technologies and capabilities.
- Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex business problems and develop practical solutions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Immunology, Neurology, Cardiometabolic and other key therapeutic areas
- Expertise with a variety of modeling techniques including statistical, patient-flow, simulations, agent based and other systems dynamics-based techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in delivering capabilities transformations, developing web-based analytics and insights models, and simulations capabilities.
- Expertise in developing web-based analytics and insights platforms, conducting simulations involving end-to-end pharmaceutical analytics and insights is a plus.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across large & diverse functional teams.
- An agile mindset and proactiveness to solve problems.
- Ability to manage ambiguous environments, and to adapt to changing needs of business.
- Strong communication and project management, analytical problem-solving skills, with focus on innovation is a must.
- Hands on experience with real world & commercial analytics databases will be a plus.
