It begins with a Card Member using an American Express Card at one of our millions of proprietary Merchants around the world – then processing that transaction and getting the merchant paid is up to us. The Acquirer Capability Delivery (ACD) Products team is at the heart of the proprietary transaction process. We power billions of transactions leading to merchants being paid and continuing to welcome American Express cardmembers and their cards.
We are looking for a talented Product leader to join the ACD Products team in delivering efficient, effective, predictable, and compliant transaction processing. As part of the team, you will lead strategy, product development and delivery of solutions to merchants and partners around the world. The success of the role will depend on your ability to lead a globally distributed team, to understand and drive appropriate business architecture, to question and challenge demand through validated business benefit, and have a strong focus on detail.
You will work among high performing product, process, and engineering teams. You will have a passion for both technology and business strategy and an eye on industry trends. Working with our partners you will develop product roadmaps and prioritize features that optimize shareholder value while solving customer problems. How will you make an impact in this role?
Support the delivery lifecycle through solid engagements & efficient partnership with Customers, Product teams & Technology partners aligning to the enterprise strategy for the network capability & Enterprise Strategic top priorities (STP). As a Product Manager with Network delivery team, own the Backlog & Prioritization of features, Working closing with the Business to understand the requirements
Partner with Quality team aligning to the “Shift Left” strategy through early engagements on features and release timelines
Ensure individual releases across the program drive the successful value delivery on the key program milestones and this delivery is of high quality. Maintaining the delivery pace of the program, without capacity waste, will be a key success metric of the role.
Manage relationships across multiple business stakeholders like Product & Program Owners, PD&I teams, TD&E & Envisioning teams to support the STPs roadmap through efficient delivery
Maintain clarity of the minimum viable program delivery and ensure the program has the capacity to deliver its core potential and capabilities.
Reviewing and accepting engineering deliverables, ensuring it meets all of your requirements
Have the ability to be able to work with complex cross functional teams: Engineers, Architects, governance & business partners.
Co-ordinate communication, escalate and facilitate resolution of risks, issues and changes tied to the Product Backlog
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required.
8+ years of experience working in SAFE Agile methodologies with solid understanding of Product Owner & Product Manger responsibilities.
Project management and planning experience preferred along with working experience on Rally.
Proven track record of change management and delivery in complex and highly · matrixed organizations.
High intellectual curiosity, with excellent creative and critical thinking and problem- solving skills
Outstanding communicator with the ability to translate complicated business needs into technical requirements that can be delivered by technology teams and influence and drive decisions within cross-functional teams.
Payments industry experience, preferably including understanding of Network and payment technology and processes for debit/credit processing and policy and operations.
