About LSEG Competitive Intelligence


The Competitive Intelligence team provides actionable insight to the company on its external environment and competitive landscape. Outputs from the team includes qualitative analysis such as news bulletins, competitor profiles and segment research, as well as quantitative analysis on TAMs, segment growth and share, and benchmarking vs. peers, contributing to Investor & Board documents, M&A assessments and ad-hoc projects. The team sits within the Corporate Strategy function, which acts as a thought partner to the CEO, CFO and ExCo in steering the evolution of LSEG’s group strategy, future-proofing it as a competitive business and articulating organic and inorganic growth priorities


Role Overview


You will be part of the LSEG Competitive Intelligence team and play a key role in delivering actionable insights on competitive dynamics, market trends, and growth opportunities. This role requires a blend of market research, and analytical capabilities to support executive decision-making.


Key Responsibilities


Competitive Intelligence & Analysis:


  • Monitor and analyse competitor activities, financial performance, and strategic developments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Deliver in-depth competitive benchmarking reports, including key players, their growth, and their business evolution.

Market Research & Trends Analysis:


  • Track industry trends, competitor and customer developments that impact LSEG’s businesses.
  • Conduct segment sizing analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative research into actionable insights.

Strategic Initiatives:


  • Support the development of long-term strategies by providing data-driven insights and competitive assessments.

Executive Reporting & Presentations:


  • Prepare high-quality presentations and strategic reports for executive leadership and Board-level discussions.
  • Develop visualizations to convey complex information effectively.
  • Deliver clear, concise, and well-structured written communication tailored to diverse audiences.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:


  • Partner with internal stakeholders across the Group, including Strategy, Sales & Account Management, Business, Product, and Data teams,

Qualifications & Experience


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is preferred.
  • Experience: Experienced professionals with a background in Equity Research, Market Research, Competitive Intelligence, Corporate Strategy, or Management Consulting.
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated experience in competitive analysis, benchmarking, and market research.
    • Proven experience conducting market sizing analysis.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of data into concise insights.
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an aptitude for storytelling through data.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge: Domain knowledge of financial services, financial markets infrastructure, data & analytics, fintech or technology sectors.
