About your team
The role is with Revenue Centre of excellence (COE) and the primarily responsible revolves around providing analytics support and management information to senior members of FIL management. A large proportion of the team’s activity is focused on :
- Working to streamline MI through creation of user friendly dashboards in PowerBI / Tableau
- Developing analytical solutions (descriptive and predictive) to foster and embed a data driven decision making culture
- Supporting cross functional, enterprise wide Analytic projects in a Subject Matter Expert (SME) capacity
- Driving continuous improvement by exploring new ways of working through new age tools like Generative AI
Key Responsibilities
- This role will be responsible for working on data analytics and automation projects that will help various stakeholders understand and draw conclusions from data and develop insights that assist in optimising opportunities and drive the business forward. He/she will be responsible for delivering high quality business insights using both FIL specific internal data as well as data from the industry.
- This role will work closely with business operations, finance and business leadership to achieve business objectives and communicate insights to key stakeholders. This role will aim at identifying and adopting best practices in reporting and analysis, data integrity, validation, and documentation.
- He/she will use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data and leverage these insights in initiatives that will support business outcomes. This role will be expected to apply their exhaustive knowledge of data analysis to solving real-world problems faced by our company and finding opportunities for improvement across multiple projects, teams and business units.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Technical/Functional
- Background - 7-10 years of work experience in data analytics coupled with experience in asset manangement / financial services industry, knowledge of markets and financial services
- Rich Experience of creating visualizations and dashboards using tools like PowerBI / Tableau / Oracle Analytics
- 3-5 years of experience working with data analytics and modelling tools, languages (writing SQL queries, data wrangling and modelling in Python / R) and techniques (machine learning, statistical analysis, data mining)
- Experience with Snowflake, other cloud based data-warehouse is preferable
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills coupled with strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills
- Ability to use data and metrics to test hypothesis, confirm assumptions, generate insights/recommendations, and measure success
- Can partner across a wide array of internal business groups, executive stakeholders and execution partners with ability to build solid relationships with individuals at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to extract business insights from large datasets and use them to drive business change.
- Self-starter with a strong passion for using data to influence business decisions and strategy investments.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and navigate uncertain situations to drive for clarity; work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-speed environment
