Job Profile Summary:
Responsible for managing a group of individual contributors within the Business Analysis function. The
Business Analysis function plays a key role during the onset of a project or program by helping define
scope and create requirements working closely with business partners to understand and translate needs.
This role serves as a contact for IT during the design, development, and testing phase. Functional
expertise is required. Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing
and disciplinary actions.
Major Duties:
Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise
Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities
Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
Conducts performance management and career development processes, provides input for staffing and disciplinary actions and provides hands-on training to staff
Develops periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.
Provides input and support to budget management process
Product Owner duties and responsibilities
As part of a product team, a successful Product Owner has the following duties and responsibilities:
Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
Defining the vision for the team product and maintaining a cohesive vision throughout the process
Creating a product road map based on this vision
Managing the product backlog and prioritizing the tasks based on changing requirements
Overseeing all stages of product creation, including design and development
Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process
Working with the product team and end-users to deliver updates and status reports
Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints
Knowledge :
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Preferrable to have a prior product owner experience in Derivatives
In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge is required
Highly flexible and adaptable to change
Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.
Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related field and/or equivalent work experience
11+ years of overall work experience in the financial sector, ideally in a data and 5+ years business analyst & product Owner role
Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize multiple deliverables and work independently with minimum supervision.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Experience in the system development life cycle (SDLC) and working in an Agile SCRUM environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with our business stakeholders.
Knowledge of financial operational processes, preferable in the derivative industry
Added advantage on technical certifications like Blue Prism, SQL, Markit EDM, Agile SCRUM desirable
