If you are looking for an opportunity in the Bill of Materials team called Order Engineering, Emerson has this exciting role for you! The Manager – Order Management is based in FCEC Chennai, India, and will provide technical and order engineering support for all the Emerson Flow Control products to meet customer requirements. As the Manager of Order Management at FCEC, you play a crucial role in to oversee Order Management functions, including Order Engineering, Change Order Management, and Order Administration. Key responsibilities include mentoring team leaders, aligning KRAs with organizational goals, and optimizing resource allocation. You will develop cross-functional collaboration, maintain team focus and motivation, and develop leadership capabilities. Additionally, you will lead regional initiatives and engage in global forums to give to organizational strategy. If you excel in order management and team leadership, join us to drive our success.


In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Manage the overall process from order receipt to shipment, ensuring seamless and efficient operations of Order Engineering, Change order Management and Order Administration functions.
  • Troubleshoot weak links, problem areas, and bottlenecks, providing effective and timely solutions.
  • Proactively challenge and improve existing procedures wherever loopholes are identified.
  • Assign Key Result Areas for team leads that align with group targets and overall organizational goals.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring to team leaders, assisting them with day-to-day functions and managing people-related issues.
  • Allocate resources based on order booking forecasts to ensure optimal utilization.
  • Collaborate with other function heads to improve coordination among teams, enhancing overall productivity.
  • Ensure that teams remain focused, positive, and motivated.
  • Build and nurture new leadership capabilities within the department or function.
  • Lead world area level initiatives, overseeing the implementation of tools and processes.
  • Engage in global initiatives and forums, contributing to broader organizational discussions and strategy development.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Minimum 10 years of order entry experience with at least 5 years of managing direct reports.
  • General understanding on the quote to cash processes.
  • Broad technical knowledge of products, services, processes, and projects.
  • Knowledge in Oracle Business system, Microsoft Office.
  • A results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality service to internal and external customers while optimizing productivity and efficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Degree in Mechanical/Instrumentation/Chemical/Metallurgical Engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of Order Engineering processes and related functions.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a track record of achieving departmental targets and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated creativity/innovation in problem-solving.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with tools and processes used in order management and shipment.
