Overview:
To machine a variety of parts having several setups. Selects tooling, plans roughing and finishing operations to meet required specifications and customer needs. Has the ability to hold close but not critical tolerances. Performs work in a safe and timely manner to meet customer needs. Requires supervision most of the time.

Responsibilities:
Promotes safety and quality at all times.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Conducts him or herself in a professional manner at all times when working with internal and external customers.
Developed knowledge of machine equipment and machining operations of various machines: horizontal and vertical lathes, layout machines, vertical boring mills, horizontal mills, grinders, deburring tools, fixtures, radial and angular drill press, forklifts, cranes and various forms of rigging, jib hoists, personal computers, and other required tools necessary to perform the job.
Developed knowledge and accuracy in using various measuring devices: micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and other required tools necessary to perform the job.
Above average understanding of use for tooling, drawings, work scopes, procedures, specifications and documentation to perform the primary function of the job.
Performs some setups and machine tool operations. This includes turning, boring, facing, milling, drilling, reaming, tapping, sawing, slotting, grooving, grinding, and other required actions to complete the job.
Ability to work to close tolerances but not critical tolerances.
Ability to read and comprehend drawings, sketches, job scopes, and verbal instructions.
Basic understanding of preventative maintenance of machine equipment.
Able to learn to accurately measure and record all dimensional inspections as needed and pass annual dimensional inspection tests.
Ability to complete layouts of several parts.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Accepts ownership over work performance and stays abreast of job knowledge and new skill development.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalency
3-5 year’s experience with rotating turbo machinery
Rigging capabilities
Machining capabilities on manual or CNC lathes
Experiences with turbines, compressors and/or other rotating equipment
