Job Title: Machining and Quality Engineer
Experience Required: 5 to 10 YearsSalary: Rs. 30,000 and above for the right candidate who meets the job requirements.Location: CoimbatoreJob Description:The Machining and Quality Engineer will be responsible for overseeing machining operations, ensuring quality control, and collaborating with suppliers to enhance manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in CNC and manual machining, quality inspections, and new product development. The role requires proficiency in design software, measuring instruments, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and manage CNC Turning Centers, Vertical Machining Centers, manual lathes, drilling machines, and grinding machines.
- Manufacture parts from prints or existing parts and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with suppliers to determine critical part features and assess manufacturability of designs.
- Review and recommend modifications to customer part specifications to support cost-effective production.
- Perform daily inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards based on drawings and specifications at both in-house and vendor locations.
- Handle all measuring instruments, including but not limited to:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Digital Height GaugeDigital Height Master
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Maintain QC documentation using Excel spreadsheets and generate quality reports.
- Participate in new product development and prototype manufacturing.
- Create and interpret 2D and 3D part drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Train associates in machining operations and best practices.
- Develop and fabricate fixtures for prototype fabrication.
- Troubleshoot machining and quality issues with effective problem-solving skills.
- Manage projects efficiently while meeting deadlines.
- Work on both short-term and long-term production schedules.
Work Experience & Skills:- Strong hands-on experience in machining, both CNC and manual operations.
- Ability to support daily machining operations for production parts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for creating 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Experience in executing outsourced machining projects by coordinating with multiple vendor departments.
- Ability to train and mentor associates in machining techniques.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Experience in the manufacturing industry with a focus on machining and quality control.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvements.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Familiarity with industry standards and compliance regulations.
