As a Technical Program Manager in LRL CDDA, the candidate is responsible for ensuring hands-on technical program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases of a software feature, solution, or product in the Clinical development space. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical expertise to navigate challenges, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive technology innovation. The role is responsible for defining the overall approach and architecture, driving overall quality plan and ensuring the on-time delivery and escalation, as necessary. He/she should be able to architect, understand code and end to end deployment process and can work alongside talented engineers in an open, supportive, inclusive environment. The candidate should have strong capability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable project plans. He/she will work closely with technical teams to ensure solution architecture, system design, and implementation meet project requirements. Extensive hands-on experience building and being responsible for the development of complex, large scale enterprise applications and products that require a deep understanding of application logic and dependencies. Should have relevant hands-on coding experience in the following technology environment - React, NodeJS, JavaScript, experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB), very strong in AWS cloud services AWS Glue, RedShift, Athena, S3, EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS Stepfunctions, etc, should have an understanding of various design patterns. The candidate will be required to have strong affinity to upskill(if required) and adopt AI and automation projects as per business needs. Ensures automated CI/CD pipeline and a production environment that scales to meet anticipated demand. In the Clinical Design, Delivery and Analytics solutions, the Tech PM will have to ensure that the solutions adhere to GxP standards as required.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with a global team, including Tech@Lilly business area leaders, architects, project managers, designers and other developers
  • Have a keen eye to identify opportunities to deliver efficiency gains for business via automation and innovative AI means.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Be a good steward of Lilly’s money and plan & budget the finances for optimal use.
  • Provide deep leadership and coaching in the project delivery lifecycle. Focus on shared learning, continuous improvement and drive adoption of best practices.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills, teamwork and people development.
  • Provide mentorship to accelerate the development of solution architecture and technical expertise, specific to the Lilly IDS environment
  • Partners with Solution Architect on technology directions and design.
  • Anticipate changes to the solution offerings at the enterprise level through a broad understanding of the technical issues and partner with internal service delivery teams.
  • Produces and maintains project documentation as required, including that of Computer Systems Quality
  • Understand the business processes being supported by the team
  • Resourcing - continue the team growth through selection techniques, testing and interviews.
  • Organize your work within an Agile team & Knowledge on Sprint ceremonies (Planning, Estimation, Execution, Reporting & highlight Risks & Impediments)

  • Sound experience in leading AI and Automation initiatives and provide the technical oversight throughout the development and implementation of the projects.
  • Experience with project management of development teams in major cloud technology modernization initiatives and programs such as AWS, Azure, and/or other platform offerings.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL/No-SQL Databases and Experience in the design and implementation of serverless data pipelines.
  • Understanding & Knowledge of Automation and Continuous Improvements.
  • Experience developing IT solutions in a SaaS environment including know how of application configuration/development
  • Strong domain knowledge on pharma around areas like distribution supply chain
  • Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as agile software development, rapid prototyping, and DevOps)
  • Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Understanding of architecture, design principles to guide the development team

Required Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading projects or programs with varying complexities under different tech stacks including AI and Automation projects with a keen eye on bringing efficiency for business.
  • Minimum 12 years of total IT experience.
  • Proven track record in capacity management and project estimation
  • Strong background having breadth of experience and technical knowledge
  • Lead teams to rationalize, optimize and support applications for maximum speed and scalability with industry best practices.
  • Strong experience in leading projects/program through Agile development.
  • Proven experience leading a team in a regulated industry including but not limited to, understanding regulations, SOPs, computer systems validation, and change control.
  • Preferred to have experience / interest related to Pharma domain
  • Preferred certification in one of fields PMP, PMI, PRINCE II, Safe , CSM, SEI etc
  • Knowledge in ITIL, Service Now, JIRA
  • Having working experience in Pharma in order to understand the quality and regulatory expectations while developing software solutions.
