The role is responsible to support the India LCM for the end-to-end oversight of the control environment in India Branches, including Broking Company (JPMIPL) and Non-Banking Financial Company (JPMSIPL), working in partnership with business, operational and technology Control Managers. The aim is to provide a centralized view of and from all control functions, assisting in immediate, real time problem detection and escalation.  This process will enable the Firm to engage the appropriate teams in a timely manner, and provide the ability to quickly remediate critical control issues across all the impacted areas of the Firm. 


The position will report into the Head of India Controls (For India Branch).The Controls team is part of a wider global Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) team which reports into the Finance & Business Management organization.


The India Controls team will interact with multiple businesses and corporate functions and need to be able to partner effectively with senior executives of the firm.  The individual will need to establish very strong relationships with the local business teams and develop a deep understanding of the business, its control challenges, the architecture and products/services.


As an Associate in CIB Controls India Team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the control environment across various programs. You will be responsible for monitoring controls, working closely with various departments to ensure alignment on control objectives, supporting implementation of control frameworks and compliance with regulatory requirements and firm-wide standards. This role demands strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
 


Job Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain centralized controls reporting, ensuring consistency with global standards.
  • Lead and participate in meetings, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive process improvements.
  • Support the design, implementation, and governance of the Control Framework.
  • Monitor and report on control activities, ensuring high-quality data and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with other teams to deliver timely and accurate MIS and governance materials.
  • Participate in continuous monitoring and evaluation of control effectiveness.
  • Address audit findings and implementing corrective actions by liaising with business/product teams.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of financial services experience, preferably in controls, risk management, or related functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with other teams.
  • Ability to function effectively under tight deadlines and adapt to changing environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in process improvement and operational excellence.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Experience in Banking Risk and Control domains & understanding of Controls organization and exposure to firmwide regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with flexibility to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently and think strategically.
