Global Commercial Operations supports AstraZeneca’s global brand teams and marketing companies in delivering quality commercial content to external stakeholders, including doctors, healthcare professionals, and patients. We promote, produce, and publish best-in-class commercial content for marketers and our global sales force while embedding a digital compliance capability across the organization.


The Global Commercial Operations Content Center is a showcase for great content that reduces global redundancy, generates savings, and aids the development of innovative customer experiences. Content Center helps drive content re-use and supports flexibility in local market production by providing customizable templates and source files for final promotional assets. Content Packs, offering multiple global assets as a package, are a new initiative from Content Center, with current activity focused on expanding this program.


The Global Learning Services (GLS) delivers significant business benefits like improved learner experience, innovation & process optimization, analytics capability, and cost-effective, sustainable, and scalable learning solutions. GLS provides a single-entry point for managing learning admin for global learning systems. Process optimization increases simplification and standardization of learning processes and governance, exploiting innovation and automation wherever possible. Analytics capability enhances performance metrics and analytics – delivering better data insights and improving business decision-making. Providing cost-effective learning solutions reduces the cost of learning administration to the business.


The LMS Quality Manual Tester will be responsible for executing manual test cases on Learning Management Systems to ensure that all functionalities meet business and educational requirements. This role includes identifying, documenting, and reporting issues, and collaborating with the development, learning, and support teams to ensure a high-quality learning platform experience for end-users.


Accountabilities


Manual Testing of LMS:
- Execute test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Validate LMS features, including user management, course creation, enrollment, assessments, reporting, and certification functionalities.
- Ensure the LMS platform meets accessibility standards and provides a seamless user experience.


Test Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and system design documentation.
- Perform end-to-end testing of the LMS, covering all user roles such as admin, instructor, and learner.
- Conduct regression, functional, and exploratory testing to identify defects and potential performance issues.


Bug Reporting and Documentation:
- Identify and log defects in the issue-tracking system with detailed steps to reproduce.
- Collaborate with the development and product teams to prioritize and resolve issues.
- Document test results and provide recommendations for improvements.


Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the learning and instructional design teams to ensure that content and LMS functionalities are aligned with learning objectives.
- Partner with the technical support team to address user-reported issues and ensure smooth integration of updates and new features.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure that LMS features comply with quality standards and organizational requirements.


Compliance and Standards:
- Verify that the LMS complies with relevant regulations, such as data privacy (GDPR) and accessibility (WCAG).
- Ensure that the LMS adheres to internal quality guidelines and industry best practices.


Test Environment Management:
- Maintain and manage the LMS test environment.
- Work with IT and development teams to ensure the LMS test environment mirrors the production environment.


Essential Skills/Experience
- LMS Manual Testing
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of LMS platforms and learning technologies (experience with platforms like Cornerstone Saba, Degreed, Xyleme, or others is often required).
- Quality Management: Experience in quality assurance, process improvement, and system optimization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in manual testing, preferably in an LMS or educational technology environment.
- Familiarity with testing tools and techniques for web-based applications.
- Understanding of LMS platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, or similar systems.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and test case development.
- Ability to create detailed and accurate documentation.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with test management tools like Jira, TestRail, or similar.
- Familiarity with eLearning standards such as SCORM, xAPI, and AICC is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience working within Quality
- LMS Domain knowledge
- Experience with all aspects of learning solution development preferred.
- Experience in communicating with a variety of groups of customers at different levels
- Experience in managing multiple projects
- The ability to communicate how the training program and reporting works to support the business needs
- Build productive working relationships with the business unit you support
- Communicate effectively and possess strong business writing skills
- Proficiency or ability to gain proficiency in eLearning software
- Proficiency in training curriculum development preferred
- Effective organization and time management skills
- Possess outstanding customer service skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize effectively.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, market dynamics, and major AZ business drivers
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Customer focus and organizational awareness
- Ability to manage strict timelines, escalations & ensure quality of deliverables
- Ability to work independently.


Desirable Skills/Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- GxP
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Understanding of automation testing (though this role focuses on manual testing).
- Experience in compliance testing (e.g., WCAG, GDPR).


Desirable:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Excel and PowerPoint experience required
- Working knowledge of Articulate and Captivate authoring tools.
- Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design process.
