The Global Commercial Operations Content Center is a hub for exceptional content that reduces global redundancy, generates savings, and aids in developing innovative customer experiences. By providing customizable templates and source files, the Content Center drives content re-use and supports flexibility in local market production. Our new initiative, Content Packs, offers multiple global assets as a package, and we are focused on expanding this program to ensure its success.
Global Learning Services (GLS) delivers significant business benefits such as improved learner experience, innovation & process optimization, analytics capability, and cost-effective, sustainable, and scalable learning solutions. GLS provides a single-entry point for managing learning administration for global learning systems, increasing simplification and standardization of learning processes and governance. By leveraging innovation and automation, we enhance our analytics capability to provide performance metrics and insights, ultimately improving business decision-making.
As an LMS Quality Manual Tester, you will execute manual test cases on Learning Management Systems to ensure all functionalities meet business and educational requirements. This role involves identifying, documenting, and reporting issues while collaborating with development, learning, and support teams to ensure a high-quality learning platform experience for end-users.
Accountabilities
Manual Testing of LMS:
- Execute test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Validate LMS features, including user management, course creation, enrollment, assessments, reporting, and certification functionalities.
- Ensure the LMS platform meets accessibility standards and provides a seamless user experience.
Test Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and system design documentation.
- Perform end-to-end testing of the LMS, covering all user roles such as admin, instructor, and learner.
- Conduct regression, functional, and exploratory testing to identify defects and potential performance issues.
Bug Reporting and Documentation:
- Identify and log defects in the issue-tracking system with detailed steps to reproduce.
- Collaborate with the development and product teams to prioritize and resolve issues.
- Document test results and provide recommendations for improvements.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the learning and instructional design teams to ensure that content and LMS functionalities align with learning objectives.
- Partner with the technical support team to address user-reported issues and ensure smooth integration of updates and new features.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure that LMS features comply with quality standards and organizational requirements.
Compliance and Standards:
- Verify that the LMS complies with relevant regulations, such as data privacy (GDPR) and accessibility (WCAG).
- Ensure that the LMS adheres to internal quality guidelines and industry best practices.
Test Environment Management:
- Maintain and manage the LMS test environment.
- Work with IT and development teams to ensure the LMS test environment mirrors the production environment.
Essential Skills/Experience
- 2+ years of experience in manual testing, preferably in an LMS or educational technology environment.
- Familiarity with testing tools and techniques for web-based applications.
- Understanding of LMS platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, or similar systems.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and test case development.
- Ability to create detailed and accurate documentation.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with test management tools like Jira, TestRail, or similar.
- Familiarity with eLearning standards such as SCORM, xAPI, and AICC is a plus.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- GxP
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Understanding of automation testing (though this role focuses on manual testing).
- Experience in compliance testing (e.g., WCAG, GDPR).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Excel and PowerPoint experience required.
- Working knowledge of Articulate and Captivate authoring tools.
- Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design process.
