Job Responsibility:


  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance to internal teams on various legal matters, including contracts, agreements, regulatory compliance, litigation, and dispute resolution, specific to the elevator industry in India.


  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, service agreements, purchase orders, tender documents, and other related documents, ensuring compliance with Indian legal requirements and industry-specific regulations.


  • Conduct legal due diligence for business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry-specific requirements.


  • Stay up-to-date with Indian laws, regulations, and industry standards related to the elevator industry, such as the Indian Elevator Rules, safety regulations, building codes, and other applicable laws, and communicate relevant updates to the management team.


  • Collaborate with external legal counsel on complex legal matters, litigation cases, and disputes, and represent the company's interests in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings, specifically tailored to the elevator industry in India.


  • Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and best practices specific to the elevator industry, considering Indian legal requirements and industry standards, to ensure compliance and minimize legal risks.


  • Conduct legal research and analysis of Indian elevator laws, judgments, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific guidelines to support decision-making and provide accurate and timely legal advice to stakeholders.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and risk management, to ensure legal compliance throughout the organization, including adherence to safety regulations, maintenance requirements, and industry-specific standards.


  • Manage and oversee the process of obtaining necessary licenses, permits, and certifications required for elevator installations, maintenance, and operations in India.


  • Assist in the development and delivery of legal training programs to enhance the legal knowledge and awareness of employees, specifically tailored to Indian elevator laws, regulations, and safety standards.


Key Skills:


  • Responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the elevator company in India.


  • Provide Legal Guidance, Support and ensure compliance with Indian laws, regulations & contractual obligations.


  • Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholder to manage legal risks, protect the company’s interest, and ensure adherence to the specific legal requirements and regulations of the elevator industry in India.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and legal counsel.


  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.


  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


  • Fluency in English and proficiency in local languages relevant to the region of operation in India.
