As a Lead Technical Program Manager at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Banking's Athena Core team, you thrive at managing complex technology programs that have far-reaching implications for clients, employees, and stakeholders throughout the firm. This role requires a strong grasp of the big-picture – namely, how can technology help achieve business goals – as well as a keen ability to establish priorities, manage resources and budgets, and build and incentivize high-performing teams. You'll work closely with colleagues across the firm to identify opportunities to develop projects and programs that are broadly applicable. Once you and your team establish a roadmap, you'll play an integral role in ensuring that the project is running on time, within budget, and in accordance with firm-wide guidelines, including risk and architecture. Just as importantly, you'll work with your team to set goals, foster collaboration, and promote the values, culture, and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co


Job responsibilities


  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure timely delivery of technology projects
  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing contingency plans to maintain project and program momentum
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders, to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall business goals
  • Utilize technical fluency to evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and vendor products for project implementation
  • Monitor project progress, adjusting plans and schedules as needed, and providing regular status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication throughout the project or program lifecycle
  • Utilize advanced analytical reasoning to assess program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven optimizations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support annual Infrastructure Planning exercise by capturing, pricing, and scheduling new investment, capacity growth, tech refresh, DC exit and application retirements
  • Oversee the execution of project portfolio pushing for on-time starts and prompt completions
  • Perform on-going optimization analysis and develop plans to assist in additional cost reduction initiatives across your assigned portfolios
  • Champion the adoption of agile methodologies and technical solutions, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a large organization
  • Advanced expertise in stakeholder management, with the ability to establish productive working relationships and influence decision-making across cross-functional teams and clients
  • Advanced experience in utilizing technical fluency, including knowledge of vendor products and managing vendor relations, to enable on-demand access to shared pools of applications and services
  • Proven track record of effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Good understanding of technology infrastructure (distributed and cloud), and cost management. Analyze and discuss the potential risks/benefits involved in using specific technology solutions to address business requirements. Analyze financial reports, trends to identify cost saving opportunities and resolve billing issues
  • Establish and maintain good working relationship with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the firm. Liaise with Senior executives, application developer teams, Solution Architects, DBAs, SAs, Finance, Estate Managers etc. to ensure successful project deliveries
  • Partner with application owners to disseminate and execute on their infrastructure project plans, and ability to track, adjust and report on the financial spend tied to these projects
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities
