Summary of This Role

Responsible for the analyzing of system performance to ensure optimal processing efficiency. Works closely with IT Technical and Application Support teams in identifying and resolving processing issues. Develops and administers multiple software packages involved in the analyzing of system and batch performance. Performs problem determination, analysis and executes corrective action. Creates and maintains various analytical reports utilized by both technical and business owners. Supports all Business Continuity activities. Provides operational support for all conversion/deconversion activities. Communicates with both internal/external clients.


What Part Will You Play?
  • Administers, creates, and interprets reporting of business metrics and takes appropriate tuning action as necessary across mainframe and distributed environments that determine processing performance for Senior and Executive Management. Develops and maintains predictive modeling tools to enhance performance related to scheduling, prioritization, and coordination of production files by proactively assessing processing performance and future client needs.
  • Develops and administers automation tools, products, applications, and business processes to increase productivity, eliminate duplications, and coordinate information requirements so that jobs can be prioritized and resources maximized. Provides technical advice to all levels of management and team members on interpretation/ development/ revision of policies and procedures.
  • Work in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts, training, communications and stakeholders to ensure smooth "go live" when new systems or processes are moved to production.
  • Recommend tuning opportunities to improve run-time optimization and work with business/ application team to remedy issues. Recommend, develop and maintain complex analytical tools utilizing statistical data to identify opportunities for improvement and consistency across all environments.
  • Lead operational support for all Business Continuity activities and conversion/ deconversion activities.
  • Maintain continuous line of communications, keeping internal partners informed of all critical issues. Representing the company externally as necessary.
  • Acts as a mentor to entry level roles.
What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree; Relevant Experience or Degree in: Information Technology or Business related study; relevant experience in lieu of education
  • Typically Minimum 6 Years Relevant Exp
  • Information Technology Field and/ or Bankcard Industry

Preferred Qualifications


  • Strong Knowledge of Mainframe Operating system (IBM Z OS)
  • Experience with JCL(job Control Language)
  • Familiarity in incident management tools.
  • Understanding of SFTP protocols.
  • 8 Years Relevant Exp
  • Operations experience with CA7, Mainframe JCL,SDSF,RMF, BMC or IBM suite of products.
  • Willingness to work in shifts 24/7

What Are Our Desired Skills and Capabilities?


  • Monitor and Execute batch jobs as per schedules using tools CA7 and Control M.
  • Ensure jobs complete successfully and resolve issues promptly to maintain uptime.
  • Good understanding of IPL
  • Have worked on SDSF and has good knowledge on working on init structure to maintain a better flow of batch jobs.
  • Have worked on RMF to understand the delays and manipulate the resource utilization.
  • Ensure DR plans are in place tested and aligned with business continuity requirements.
  • Has worked on report generation for the entire month from logs and create meaningful insights.
  • Identify and troubleshoot batch failure or system errors.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate team while ensuring timely resolution.
  • Perform routine checks to ensure the health and stability of mainframe system.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization.
  • Maintain up to date documentation for standard operating procedures (SOP)and batch process.
  • Generate and share periodic status report with stakeholders.
  • Continuously identify areas for improvement in batch processing environment.
  • Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams and business units to enhance mainframe processing and job scheduling.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and scripting ( ex REXX, CLIST, JCL modification).
