Major Duties :1. Analyzes and develops complex logical data base designs, data models and relational data definitions in support of corporate and client area information systems requirements.
2. Projects are large in scope, typically cross-functional and technically difficult, often involving combinations of platforms and computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server, Web, e-commerce) and technologies.
3. Provides in-depth consulting to client and IT management and staff at the highest technical level in the identification and resolution of information flow, content issues and the transformation of business requirements into relational data base definition.
4. May act as Project Leader.
5. May be involved in providing assistance and training to lower level specialists.
6. Keeps abreast on the direction of emerging industry standards.
7. Provides technical analysis of requirements necessary for the protection of all information processed, stored, or transmitted by systems.
8. Serves as an expert resource or ¿go to person¿ within a group.
9. Conducts preliminary analysis.
10. Reviews work of others.
11. Handles more extensive, high-profile work.
12. Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management.
Knowledge :Requires excellent analytical ability, communication and consultative skills, strong judgment and problem analysis techniques, an in-depth knowledge of the business unit's functions and applications, and a broad knowledge of diverse data base technologies, tools and alternatives. Must have the ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff.
Experience :A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred. Related Industry qualification (e.g. ACCA) is preferred.
