The Opportunity:


Responsible for the leading the month end close activities and being the first point of contact with finance operations. Will also be responsible in monitoring Blackline, Gtreasury, Workday, Concur, Journal Entry Workflow Tool, and Service Portal tickets.


Collaborate with finance process teams in a captive Shared Service Center (SSC) to drive high quality service delivery through operational support for finance and accounting systems, change management and timely resolution of system issues. Assist the team lead to drive process optimization & simplification initiatives. Lead training and mentoring of team. Support coordination with other functions (including leadership) as well as Global Process Owners within a Shared Service Center (SSC) and IT organizations.


Typically, the first escalation point of contact for any integration or system issue affecting the close. Post MEC review any outstanding or current issues and work with IT and finance delivery team in fixing the root cause.


You are great at:


  • Work closely with Finance application support, Information Technology and process delivery teams to ensure finance systems are operating and are closed as per accounting calendar.


  • Provide support for resolution of basic system issues related to finance processes including Finance close, General Ledger, Master Data, Reconciliations, and reporting. Any complex issue will be addressed to the specific team to fulfil. 


  • Monitor that GL close activities such as revaluation, period closure, amortization, allocation and exchange rates are executed and uploaded as per accounting calendar.


  • Ensure a full end to end understanding of the close process cycle to facilitate process optimization and simplification through change management.


  • Manage training and mentoring of team members, ensure knowledge and expertise is maintained, developed and exchanged.


  • Responsible to lead processes improvements and optimize the overall business performance and support finance systems including NetSuite, Blackline, etc., ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of work / reports including automation and simplification of business processes.


  • Provide support for resolution of complex system issues related to finance processes including 


  • Responsible for leading all aspects of the IT and Project lifecycle with a broad and deep understanding of the different phases and requirements across OOTC; including leading a team of cross functional members to execute and report on results.


  • Lead, review and measure effective E2E and discrete testing to ensure quality release of data and functional requirements, provides leadership to manage processes and optimize the overall technical business performance including automation and simplification of business processes.  


  • Ensure that SOX controls are followed per our agreement with our internal audit team and Be proactive and innovative with ideas to improve service based on current performance and risk understanding.


  • Ensure performance measures are met or exceeded in order to drive performance and process efficiencies.


What it takes:


  • First level university degree with a focus in accounting, business, economics; Accounting qualifications will be an added advantage (CA, CPA, ACCA).


  • 8-12 years is typically experienced in a variety of finance functions.


  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting systems (NetSuite, GTreasury, Blackline, SAP); certifications preferred where applicable.


  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting system in Netsuite


  • Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly articulate expectations and outcomes with various levels of management, both in Finance and Business as well as some technical acumen with IT


  • Broad and deep understanding of the IT project lifecycle and the ability to lead all aspects and phases. 


  • Experience of managing senior onshore and offshore stakeholders through daily/hourly interactions.


  • Experience of managing transition of system support activities for finance processes (as mentioned above) from different geographies.


  • Drive process improvement recommendations in partnership with stakeholders to deliver efficiency and cost benefits.
