Job Description

We are hiring a Senior/Lead Site Reliability Engineer to support one of our key application areas. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead this area.


As an SRE lead engineer, you will own lead Production support, Incident recovery in the areas in scope. You will also develop domain expertise in the application area and continually work on System improvements. It is a key area of responsibility in the team, and there will be ample opportunities to learn, perform and excel in the role.


It would be required to provide support on need basis - out of hours support, overnight and weekends and bank holidays as well. Should be able to provide on-call support as well.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Production Support and Incident Recovery: Be the point of first contact for Production incidents on behalf of the team. Lead triage of and recovery of Incidents, perform Root cause analysis, and coordinate actions through incident recovery meetings.
  • Production Environment Stability: Ensure a stable production environment at all times by ensuring all Key Performance Indicators of the Infrastructure and the Applications are in good shape.
  • Operational Process Improvement: Automate operational processes to reduce manual work. Ensure efficient monitoring/alerting mechanisms are in place for the server infrastructure as well as applications. Ensure all alerts are actionable.
  • Drive Infrastructure Optimization – drive Obsolescence mitigation
  • CI/CD - Knowledge of CI/CD
  • Domain Expertise: Develop expertise in application dataflows and networking topologies. Maintain and enhance knowledge bases.
  • System Improvement Activities: Collaborate with development teams to identify areas of improvement
  • Leadership and Mentoring - Lead and mentor team on Production Support nuances!

Technical qualifications:


  • Over 10 years in the IT industry, with experience in similar roles.
  • Extensive experience in Databases – Oracle. Exposure to MongoDB or Cosmos, PostGres
  • Experience in scripting - including shell scripting and automation.
  • DevOps' skills – Drive CI/CD initiatives. Knowledge and experience in configuring/using Kubernetes, Docker, and container-based development and applications.
  • Experience with solving problems in large distributed systems
  • Knowledge/Experience in working with monitoring and alerting tooling (DataDog and BigPanda experience is desirable)
  • Strong grasp of version control systems, particularly GIT.
