Job Summary


Collins Aerospace is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join the RM&S CoE team in supporting the development of innovative aviation Mechanical solutions for the world’s leading commercial aircraft companies. 


Job Responsibilities


  • Perform Reliability assessments including MTBF prediction, FMEA in accordance with ARP 4761 and ARP 4754A.,
  • Perform R&S analysis on various products LRU and develop following reports
    • Reliability prediction
    • Design FMEA , Function FMEA , Piece part FMEA etc.
    • System Safety analysis
  • Participate in product development & testing.
  • Find and implement new methodology to enhance R&S analysis and improve accuracy of analysis
  • Collaborate with a global team (India, US, UK etc) and communicate project status updates and challenges to project leads.
  • Track, document, and maintain changes log through company provided tools.
  • Work with technical leaders to influence the strategy for the next wave of product features and system capabilities, identifying the best way to deliver capabilities.
  • Support teams on the utilization of internal processes, methods, and tools for systems development and documentation efforts. Drives new approaches, tools, and techniques based on needs identified in metric and defect trends in the enterprise.
  • Support flow down of system safety requirements to design and development of hardware and software based on the development assurance level (DAL)
  • Support Discipline strategies that align with higher level business objectives
  • Support technical proposal preparations and serve as the subject matter expert in non-advocate and customer systems reviews for large complex systems.
  • Leads/ Support in identification and analysis of potential hazards from aircraft and system concept definition through development, testing, production, and sustainment.

Basic Qualifications


  • Preferably Mechanical/Aeronautical/ Systems Engineering
    • Bachelor's degree (and 4+ years of relevant experience
    • Experience in CAD tools like as CREO, CATIA , UG Etc.
  • Experience in working with ARP4761/ ARP4754/ Mil Standards
  • Hands on experience in Windchill Quality system /Item toolkit etc would be advantage
  • Demonstrated expertise with CAFTA or similar Fault Tree analysis tools
  • Understanding of DO 254/DO178C/ DO 160 standards will be added advantage
  • Knowledge in reliability engineering theory
  • Effective oral/written communication skills (including technical writing)
  • Effective interpersonal and team skills
  • Engaging in effective time management, working with a great deal of independence

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
