Overview:
In-depth knowledge and experience in various polymeric materials, formulation/ compounding, materials processing, testing, characterization & failure analysis.
Roles and Responsibilities -
- In process trouble shooting/ problem solving and verification/validation in process factors.
- Characterize materials and adhesive, interpret data, and present results on a regular cadence to colleagues and management.
- Write standard procedure by maintaining clear technical information and consistent documentation.
- Coordination with supplier for material sourcing, sharing feedback and ensuring the material is aligned with the specifications.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of material handling/deposition processes and workflows.
- Provide technical advice to cross-functional teams, influencing system development and creating shared awareness of technical possibilities and limitations within polymer materials.
- Take the lead on supporting daily production and conduct improvement projects on production process/equipment and/or materials.
- Take part in process validation for production environment.
- Analyze and interpret data; propose hypotheses as explanations of phenomena, and design experimental studies to validate hypotheses.
- Take technical ownership of projects and work independently to solve problems.
- Lead by example in the areas of safety improvement and the application of quality measures.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with EHS regulations and in accordance with Quality.
- Experience in Adhesive testing and accelerated aging, service life prediction by Arrhenius modelling.
- Experience with Adhesive/solvent/polymer interactions – Swelling, plasticization, dissolution, compatibility
- Experience in characterization of polymeric materials and data interpretation (e.g. TGA, DSC, FTIR, DMA, other mechanical test methods).
- A collaborative mindset, willingness to work with/resolve ambiguity, and a “proactive” approach to support manufacturing process.
Qualifications and Skills
- B.E/B. Tech in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science.
- Industrial experience: 5 years in Adhesive, Sealants and Paints.
- Expertise in structure-function relationships of polymers/adhesives.
- Strong technical knowledge adhesive formulations and hands-on to solve technical challenges during bonding process.
