About the role
We are looking for a model production developer to join our APT model production team. You will be responsible for maintenance and modernizing the architecture of the model production code, which is a critical component of our award-winning market risk solution. You will work with and support legacy code, as well as new code development in Java. You will also collaborate with other developers, analysts, and stakeholders in the team and across the organization.
About the team
The APT model production team is responsible for the creation and delivery of the APT risk models, which are used by portfolio managers and risk teams worldwide to measure and manage their market risk exposures. The APT risk models leverage financial market data and statistical techniques to derive risk factors and exposures for public and private assets across various asset classes and regions. The team works closely with the APT research team, the APT product team, and the APT client service team to ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of the risk models.
What you will be doing
You will work with and support legacy code, as well as new code development in Java. You will also collaborate with other developers, analysts, and stakeholders in the team and across the organization and lead and work any modernization initiatives.
What you bring:
3 to 5 years of experience in JAVA, MySQL, PERL, and other legacy scripting.
Strong JAVA skills and knowledge of best practices for code architecture, abstraction, and long-term maintenance
Proven background/experience in working with legacy code and support, preferably in PERL and other legacy languages.
Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
Strong communication skills and ability to present your work, receive feedback, and engage in constructive discussions.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to understand complex logic and data flows. Willingness to be on call (UK dayside) when product issues occur and provide timely solutions.
Nice to Have skills: Delphi, Knowledge of Finance and Risk models.
Qualifications
B Sc / M. Sc (Mathematics / Statistics) + MCA OR
B.E/B.Tech with Strong Quantitative Aptitude Competencies
