How you will contribute


You will conduct innovative pilot projects to drive disruptive ideas across the organization, using the learnings from these projects to inform decisions on whether to incorporate them as a portfolio project or to introduce them as a new proof of concept. Working with other Mondelēz teams, you will get to experiment with cutting-edge technologies to build a strong pipeline of ideas to pursue. In addition, you will get to bring the outside in by building relationships with start-ups and building your knowledge of actual proof-of-concept cases and lead end-to-end product management activities after the proof of concept has been successfully adopted.

The Plant Digital Lead is a key role responsible for driving the digital transformation of manufacturing operations within a specific FMCG plant in India. This role will lead the implementation and adoption of digital technologies to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and sustainability within the plant.


What you need to know about this position:


What extra ingredients you will bring:


  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with a focus on digital technologies.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies in the FMCG industry.
  • Experience in implementing and managing MES, IIoT, or other relevant digital technologies.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical 1 skills.  

Preferred Skills:


  • Experience with specific MES or IIoT platforms.
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 principles and technologies.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in the FMCG industry.

Education / Certifications:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial), Computer Science, or a related field.


Job specific requirements:


  • Digital Strategy & Roadmap:
    • Develop and implement the plant's digital transformation strategy aligned with the overall company's digital roadmap and manufacturing strategy.
    • Identify and prioritize digital initiatives based on business needs and potential ROI.
    • Create a roadmap for the implementation of digital technologies within the plant.
  • Technology Implementation & Management:
    • Lead the implementation of various digital technologies, such as:
      • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
      • Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
      • Advanced Process Control (APC)
      • Data Analytics and Visualization tools
      • Automation and Robotics
      • Digital Twin technology
    • Manage the integration of these technologies with existing plant systems.
    • Ensure data security and integrity.
  • Data Analytics & Insights:
    • Leverage data analytics to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of digital initiatives.
    • Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights to plant management.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and IT, to ensure successful implementation of digital projects.
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including plant management, corporate IT, and technology vendors.
    • Provide training and support to plant personnel on the use of new digital technologies.
  • Change Management:
    • Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new digital technologies and processes.
    • Communicate the benefits of digital transformation to plant personnel and address any concerns.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate and improve the plant's digital infrastructure and processes.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest digital technologies and trends in manufacturing.
    • Identify and implement best practices for digital manufacturing.
