We are on a mission to supercharge our engineering culture by building a world-class Developer community that's the envy of the industry.In this role, you will be joining our Engineering Team within Engineering Excellence & Productivity (EXP), Corporate Technology (CT) as a Team Lead. This team serves as a bridge between Corporate Technology and LSEG central engineering, operations and compliance teams with the key focus of enabling our CT DevOps teams to bring new software or new features to production as quickly as possible. Ensuring all central requirements and changes are supported via aligned EXP squads. Using our EXP squads, the team will either directly implement the technical change required or lead CT coordinated efforts where there are multiple capability dependencies.Ensuring correct tooling standards are being followed as well as automation of operational tasks.Supporting CT Compliance, Security Controls and Risk Management.Ensuring an acceptable level of IT operations performance and error risk in line with service level agreements (SLAs).Continuously review operating metrics and data to identify opportunities to improve.Tech Profile/Essential SkillsPPM Tools (ex: Clarity, JIRA, Asana).DevOps Principles including CI/CD.Developer Tools (ex: GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).General understanding of Databases.Previous experience in a Project delivery, Coordination or Support role.Previous experience of Software Development, Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance.Preferred Skills and ExperienceHands-On experience of working on Windows/ Linux Servers. Cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP). Managing incidents, change requests, service requests and driving TRT (Technical Recovery Team) calls. Strong troubleshooting skills on these platforms.Minimum knowledge and understanding of financial markets are desirable. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively in English with all levels of staff, both orally and written. Ability to manage own work and multitask to meet tight deadlines without losing sight of priorities under minimum supervision. Highly motivated, self-directed individual with a positive & pro-active attitude to work. Customer and service focused, with determination to meet their needs and expectations. Be driven and committed to the goals and objectives of the team and organization. Second line point of escalation in event of a major incident.KEY COMPETENCIESCommunicates with information in a concise format that is audience appropriate.Understands different approaches to project management (e.g. Agile, Waterfall etc.) and ensures flexibility to deliver and execute within different ways of working.Coordinating activities and providing hands on help for team success.Adapts priorities for rapidly changing work environments keeping track of change details.Seeks new ways of working continuously to make processes run smoother and faster.Uses project management methodologies to manage project resources and activities.Demonstrates the discipline of planning, organising and managing resources to achieve specified outcomes within a clearly defined timeframe and standards.Manages and records the risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies on a project and executes formal change control standards and governance.Interacts with others to exchange information and develop professional or social contacts and reduce siloed working.Builds trusting relationships stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.Detailed ResponsibilitiesLeads planning and execution of the product delivery lifecycle for multiple applications/workstreams.Manages complex projects across cross-divisional business units with circa ~£10m allocated budget for the sub-portfolios / programmes – Identifies and tracks key technical dependencies and competing priorities.Leads issue resolution, providing options and solutions to resolve conflicts across teams.Manages relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.Gathers feedback on supplier performance, identifying issues and improvements.Line manager, supports and develops team members by providing advice, coaching and development opportunities – Deputises at key meetings and as necessary.Ensures quality is built into everything we deliver as an organisation.Must interact with global teams in time zones spanning UK, US, APAC areas. Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services - from inception and design, through to deployment, operation, and refinement. Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews. Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health. Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity. Build a CI/CD pipeline and maintain the pipeline for Software Delivery. Collaborate with Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure the patching are up to date. Co-ordinate and work with DevOps Capability team to perform the Disaster recovery for the applications. Participate in Project related activities to meet operational needs. To ensure knowledge Articles of all supported systems is continually updated. To provide a high level of customer service, whilst working under pressure. To follow and adhere to established Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management procedures.
