Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished Lead Cloud Database Engineer to guide the evolution of our database technology landscape. This role will be pivotal in defining, designing, implementing, testing, and communicating the architectures, configurations, best practices, and standards for optimal use of database technologies across our organization, both on-premises and in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen in relational and NoSQL databases within AWS and/or GCP environments, along with the ability to mentor junior engineers and work with cross-functional teams.

Technical Skills:
DB Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP) focusing on database management.
Database Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, Aurora, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Firestore, Bigtable).
High Availability Architectures: Experience designing and implementing GDHA, HA, DR, and fault-tolerant database architectures.
Automation Skills: Proficiency in database provisioning automation, monitoring, and maintenance using scripting languages (Ansible, Python) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of database security mechanisms, including encryption, access controls, role-based access (RBAC), and compliance standards.
DevOps Familiarity: Familiar with DevOps practices and tools used for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
