Job Description- LCCI SFO IBU AD [LCCI Sales force operations – International business unit – Associate director]

Position Description/Responsibilities


LCCI GOSO IBU Associate Director role is to expected lead a team that effectively partners with IBU stakeholders to ensure the delivery of Sales force operations and insights with quality, speed, and value. Gamut of capabilities include (but not limited to) customer targeting, sales force sizing, sales force structure, territory alignment design and maintenance and field call planning support.


GOSO IBU AD is also expected to closely partner with Sr. Director, IBU Sales strategy and operations as well as Affiliate leadership and customer operations teams across Lilly international that manage SFO processes in their respective hubs/affiliates.


GOSO IBU AD also provides direction and coaching to Team Leaders and direct reports & ensures team remains compliant while always striving for process improvement and innovation. This role functions within a matrixed environment and requires effective collaboration with cross functional leaders and colleagues at LCCI and around the globe. The Associate Director models behaviors consistent with Team Lilly and actively supports Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.


Key Objectives/Deliverables:


  • Oversees execution, delivery, and tracking of project work.
  • Partner with Hub/Affiliate team for high quality execution and on time delivery of the SFO projects covering the spectrum of SFO activities.  
  • Oversee prioritization and workload and remove barriers to success. Manage escalations and conflicts.
  • Run a strong governance process across all IBU SFO projects and track and report data on quality, speed and value (and other relevant performance metrics) to drive successful behaviors.
  • Serve as trusted advisor by partnering with affiliate teams to make sure that various phases of the project teams (kick-off, approach development, execution, insight generation and recommendations) are executed successfully.
  • Effectively lead, challenge, and influence across executives and all other levels
  • Promote and facilitate sharing learning and innovation across IBU Hubs, focusing on opportunities that increase our capabilities to scale with speed, improve quality, value or efficiency.
  • Work with Team Leads and direct reports to develop and document team core competencies
  • Support creation and maintenance of team procedures, quality checklists, templates, and job aids to enable consistency and quality
  • Lead, coach, and develop IBU SF at LCCI.
  • Live the Lilly Leadership Principles: Connect with People, Be Determined and Drive Continuous Improvement Drive new-hire selection and on-boarding.
  • Develop a high performing team that effectively responds to an evolving business environment.
  • Foster an environment that builds trust.
  • Monitor employee engagement and team health; intervenes and escalates as needed
  • Coach, develop, and empower team members at all levels of the organization consistent with the Lilly coaching framework.
  • Partners with direct reports to create individual development planning/action planning consistent with both organizational priorities and career goals.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders regarding development and evaluation needs for matrixed team members (US SFO, IC, Data spine and O2)
  • Serves as a trusted career advisor; works with and LCCI based Functional Leadership and HR to identify development and career opportunities.
  • Coaches team members using the Lilly coaching framework by encouraging two-way dialogue and open feedback, listening actively, being flexible, and identifying knowledge, skill and performance gaps.

Education Requirements:


MBA/Post Graduation in quantitative discipline from a Tier-I institution


Experience related requirements


  • 10+ years of SFE and/or analytics experience with demonstrated ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment.
  • At least 4+ years of experience in coaching and mentoring individuals
  • Experience in pharma industry is required.
  • Technical and Functional Skills
    • SFO or Sales Incentives experience in Pharma industry
    • Experience in methodologies such as segmentation, Sales Force Sizing & Structure, Territory Alignment & Deployment, Call Planning, Field Reporting
    • Knowledge of databases such as APLD, IQVIA Rx datasets etc.
    • Experience in tools such as Tableau/ Power BI/KNIME/ Python
    • Proven problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
    • Good focus on detail, accuracy, and ability to solve problems through analytical reasoning. Strong learning agility,
    • Strong work ethic, personal motivation, and team player who is dynamic and result oriented
    • Good presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to influence others.
    • Ability to operate effectively in an international matrix environment, with ability to work across time zones.
    • Proven leadership and networking skills
