L3 Golang Support Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled L3 Golang Support Engineer with expertise in Golang, AWS, and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing advanced support and troubleshooting for multiple applications, managing complex incidents, and collaborating closely with development teams to enhance application performance and reliability.


Overall Responsibilities:
  • Provide L3 support for applications, diagnosing and resolving complex issues across the entire application stack.
  • Collaborate with development teams to participate in feature enhancements and suggest improvements based on root cause analysis.
  • Manage incident lifecycles, ensuring timely resolution and documenting findings.
  • Engage in knowledge sharing with L1 and L2 support teams to improve overall service quality.
  • Maintain documentation for issue resolution processes for future reference.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to set expectations and explain technical solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce repeat incidents and enhance application performance.
Technical Skills:

1. Software Requirements:


  • Proficient in Golang programming language.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.

2. Applications Expertise:


  • Deep technical understanding of supported applications, including architecture and code base.
  • Ability to diagnose issues involving hardware, software, network, and storage components.

3. Coding and Debugging:


  • Experience in coding, debugging, and making code-level changes to resolve complex issues.

4. Incident Management:


  • Skills in managing the incident resolution lifecycle, including root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in application support, with a significant focus on Golang.
  • Proven experience in supporting cloud-based applications, particularly on AWS.
  • Prior involvement in managing incidents and interacting with development teams for application enhancements.
Day-to-Day Activities:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex application issues reported by L1 and L2 support teams.
  • Review and write code to fix issues as needed, working closely with development teams.
  • Monitor application performance and address potential issues proactively.
  • Document incident resolutions and maintain knowledge documentation for team reference.
  • Engage in continuous communication with customers to provide updates on incident status.
  • Lead and manage crisis situations during critical incidents, ensuring rapid resolution.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to relay technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and mentor junior support staff.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to handle critical issues outside of normal business hours when necessary.
