Overview
We are seeking a hardworking and intellectually curious Senior SupportEngineer to join the Second Line Productionsupport team of new Index platform for FTSE-Russell Index Business of London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) in our Bengaluru office. Index team is responsible for calculations and distribution of Indexes to end clients. The individual will be responsible for the delivery of various projects through working with technical specialists, systems architects, project managers and external suppliers. The successful candidate will have proven technical expertise as well as ideally some project management experience.

Key Responsibilities
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate support engineer who is adept in advanced, long-term fixes and solutions for distributed applications using multiple database technologies (SQL Server, , PostgreSQL) and possesses strong experience in providing 2nd line production support, including incident management, and liaising with business stakeholders.
, The idealcandidate will work with both internal and external customers to support the timely delivery of FTSE Russell’s services and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include acting as a single point of contact for the Engineering department in relation to all matters pertaining to project engagement and service transition leading to successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with other technology teams and business users to understand the complex user journeys, workflows, and data interactions involved in the Index business lifecycle. This understanding is crucial for effectively addressing and resolving high-level technical support issues.
This role will require close collaboration with both internal and external index business collaborators, including Full Stack Developers, Product Owners, Index Operations, and technology teams. The Senior Support Engineer will also work directly with users and technical teams to manage, diagnose, and resolve technical issues within our key Index Platforms, which adopt cutting-edge technologies and AWS cloud-native architecture.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Electronics / Electrical Engineering
5+ years of shown experience as Support Engineer.
Required Skills
Experience working with Highly Distributed & Data Intensive system.
Familiarity with technologies such as:
Full Stack development using Angular and Java
Spring Boot
Micro ServicesDocker, Kubernetes
Experience with Cloud Computing AWS/ Azure/ Google cloud.
Demonstrates a can-do demeanour, exhibits self-confidence, and work independently.
Excellent customer support skills demonstrated while working in high pressure environment.
Extensive experience of managing client queries and problems.
Excellent communication skills with a demonstrable ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organisation and with customers and clients.
Proven problem solving, planning and organising skills, a flexible approach with excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Excellent documentation skills.
Ability to provide guidance on strategic development issues across infrastructure platforms.
Technical and system architecture skills – demonstrable technical skills with a good understanding of a range of enterprise technologies.
Linux shell scripting.
Transact/ANSI SQL.
Mentoring & Training of others.
Good attention to detail is essential as is the ability to present designs and concepts in a clear and attractive way in formal presentations, informal meetings, reports and advisory notes; excellent writing skills are required.
Must be able to work under pressure and prioritise conflicting tasks to complete them in the most effective way.
Good technical knowledge (and application in a financial services business) of a diverse range of technologies including Enterprise Architectures, RDBMS, Batch Jobs, Alerting & Monitoring, etc
Experience of managing third parties.
Advantageous Skills
Experience in financial services with an understanding of financial market data would be helpful.
ITIL certification and experience of working in an ITIL framework-based environment.

WORKING HOURS
The successful applicant on completion of probation shall initially work extended FTSE business hours in a shift rotation, covering 07:00 to 19:00hrs local time, with some need to work outside these times to support client testing, major changes during non-business hours, etc. On call support may be required in response to the demands of specific project requirements.

The 2nd Line team needs to support around the clock and the strategic location of our teams is a big part of this. We need the ability to monitor global index calculations (US, Asia, Europe) as they process so that we can respond to any issues in a timely manner rather than relying on overnight callouts.
