Role Description


  • Tax Quality Assurance Team is an independent audit function who ensures that the quality and accuracy of the validations performed by the (ORDS) Operations Reference Data Services and CLM Client Lifecycle Management (CLM only in Data Privacy Locations) for FATCA, CRS and MIFID2 are maintained to High Standards.
  • We are a part of the Financial Crime Risk (FCR) and Compliance Business Control Office within Deutsche Bank that has both Tax and Know Your Customer Quality Assurance functions within the division.

Your key responsibilities


  • Operate as a TAX Quality Assurance SME.
  • Perform quality assurance on Tax forms and MiFID2 reviews against FATCA, Common Reporting Standards (CRS) & MiFID2 Key Operating Procedures respectively
  • Perform accurate and consistent QA checks on TAX files across multiple locations, business areas and client types­
  • Quality Check and ensure that FATCA/CRS/MiFID2 supporting documentation are retained in the relevant document repository
  • Create Management Information (MI) from collated results to demonstrate pass/fail metrics.
  • Escalate any disagreements to the Tax Governance, ORDS Management & Reg team to reach consensus
  • Continuous learning and upskilling - Get trained on Regulatory Classification/KYC and extend support, whenever required
  • Support and contribute towards a continuous improvement program of work borne out of a QA testing results, assess root causes and thematic issues proposing steps to be taken to eliminate, evidencing improvements­
  • Establish a culture of teamwork and collective achievement of departmental objectives and objectives across QA and CLM teams.
  • Contribute to forward looking strategy for QA including, AI, machine learning & process re-engineering­
  • The Operations Expert provides in-depth technical knowledge and expertise covering complex policies, processes, products, and regulatory requirements.­
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices, sharing knowledge with a range of internal stakeholders at all levels, regionally and globally as appropriate. ­
  • Input to Business strategy as required. ­
  • Represent Bank by managing strong relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders e.g. industry forums, regulators, third party vendors, market participants and internal divisions e.g. IT, Legal or Product Management.­
  • Communicate all changes relating to operational requirements, which impact on relevant processes and controls.  ­
  • Identify, analyze, and review operational readiness for any change-related activities. Define the requirements e.g. for the standardization of processes/policies, translating the required changes for an operational environment and overview effective implementation. Assess the risks and be responsible for risk mitigation to protect the Bank’s reputation.

Your skills and experience


  • Previous experience related to Tax and Regulations such as FATCA, CRS & MiFID2
  • Ability to work with large sets of data and navigate through various platforms to collate quality documentation and reports
  • Strong organizational abilities to proactively manage multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to think laterally around issues, proposing solutions where required­
  • Effective communication, organization, prioritization and interpersonal skills­
  • Ability to work to high standards and under strong time constraints­
  • The ability to utilize your own area of expertise and knowledge to contribute to significant improvements in operational processes and policies. Combine subject matter expertise and able to transfer knowledge to colleagues­.
  • Project management/Process engineering experience if any.
  • Engagement with Sr Stakeholders in the organization in form of regular governance forums­
