Role Summary & Description:
Chief Data Office (CDO) - Global Technology Solutions at State Street has a mandate to govern and report on data health across the enterprise and generate business value through centralized data technology solutions. CDO is rolling out multiple initiatives and operating model changes to execute these initiatives and generate value for our internal and external clients.
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on, Java Solution Architecture professional with 15+ years of experience to join our Technology team to drive the architecture, design and implementation of large scale front to back applications. The ideal candidate will have the necessary technology, communication and leadership skills to independently hands-on manage highly visible and complex projects from start to finish.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Analyze and Develop solutions to the client needs as developer within a team following the agile development approach.
- Design and develop integration solutions/services. Candidate should manage multiple development projects.
- Conducting design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding best practice guidelines.
- Represent team on all major technical upgrades and large technical efforts.
- Manage your efforts within the agile team and outside agile to ensure tasks are completed successfully by deadlines.
- Understand user needs and put forth options for solutions. Anticipate critical issues and risks; take responsibility for resolution across the organization.
- Ability to lead and deliver in a very fast paced environment.
- Be responsible for bringing innovation in product and process.
- Continuously improving domain/technical skills in the team and be a beacon and be responsible for it.
- Ability to balance between resource/project/program management duties with your technical duties.
- Resolve conflicts, and motivate team to do better every time.
- Ability to think out of box, identify and develop new capabilities in the team.
- Lead and drive global teams and understand and implement management's vision.

- Must have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with passion for engineering.
- You must be hands-on and have willingness to code and contribute as a software lead.
- Must have 15+ years’ experience, and excellent skills on Java8+, Spring Boot and related frameworks.
- Must have 5+ years’ experience on messaging, workflows, batch, enterprise integration based on files or messages.
- Must have working experience in distributed application architecture and their deployment.
- Must have ability to deliver in fast paced environment. Good to have exposure to product engineering environment.
- Must have experience in leading large technical teams from diverse skills, experiences and culture.
- Must have strong communications skills and ability to collaborate with people from across the geography.
- Must have experience in proprietary or open-source messaging, batch, integrations or BPMN solutions.
- Must have experience on any public or private cloud, Good to have Azure or AWS experience.
- Must have exposure on containers/CI-CD and orchestration frameworks/tools. Good to have experience on AKS/EKS/GKS etc.
- Must have very excellent understanding of 12 factors apps and microservice architectures.
- Should have experience working with different messaging platforms like IBM MQ, Kafka especially in cloud environment.
- Must have experience in designing and developing high-volume, low-latency, resilient enterprise grade applications.
- Must have a very good understanding of SPAs/JS Frameworks. Good to have Angular and/or React.js working experience.
- Must have experience in Testing methodology, processes, tools and frameworks.
- Good to have exposure on high-velocity message-oriented apps , with milli-seconds performance awareness.
- Good to have Experience in API building.
- Good to have exposure on ELK framework, Splunk etc.
- Provide architectural leadership for front to back technology solutions with microservices based architecture.
- Drive strategic and tactical planning and design sessions and conduct whiteboard sessions with business users, technology management, analysts, engineers and development teams.
- Execute quick proof of technology experiments to evaluate and onboard new technologies and administer the overall Application Strategy and Architecture along with evaluation of infrastructure components and performance
- Drive decision-making processes to align with business priorities and objectives related to key architecture solutions.
- Working knowledge of designing architectures for large volume data streams and component services.
- Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
- Stakeholder Management among diverse business and corporate functions, technology partners and executive management
- Good to have Experience in Finance/Capital Markets domain.
