Job Description

Overall Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a key expert on Cloud Native Development practices, guiding the Scrum team in effective Agile methodologies.
  • Act as the Technical Lead for a Scrum team to deliver features and functionality for the Commerce Hub Platform.
  • Engage with cross-functional co-located teams in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise scalable features to enhance developer productivity, environment monitoring, and self-healing capabilities.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and skills development.
  • Develop developer efficiency tools to streamline processes and free up development staff to focus on deliverables.
  • Collaborate across team boundaries to share common capabilities and improve workflow.
  • Ensure all delivered solutions are optimized for ease of use, reusability, and scalability.
  • Own and manage production infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance and architecture within a Cloud environment using Kubernetes and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.

Technical Skills:


  • Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure as Code and Cloud Native Application Development.
  • Web Application Development: Proficient in n-tier web application development, with expertise in Spring Boot and Web Flux.
  • Infrastructure Management: Experience with Cloud Development Kit, CloudFormation, Terraform, and container management solutions like Kubernetes.
  • Programming Languages: Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Golang, Java).
  • Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar solutions.
  • Agile Methodologies: Strong background working in Agile environments, including Scrum practices.
  • API Management: Experience with Apigee API Management Platform is a plus.
  • Payment Industry Experience: Previous experience in the payment industry is preferred.
  • Cloud Certifications: Certifications from AWS, Google, or Azure are advantageous.

Experience:


  • 8+ years of relevant work experience, with a proven track record in software engineering or consulting roles.
  • 10+ years of previous software engineering experience or relevant consulting/military experience.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members.

Day-to-Day Activities:


  • Lead daily Scrum meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring the team meets its commitments.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Oversee and participate in the development of Spring Boot or Python/Node applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production infrastructure and application performance.
  • Engage in continuous improvement practices, identifying and addressing process inefficiencies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and work experience.
  • Relevant Cloud certifications (AWS, Google, Azure) are a plus.
