Role Description


We are looking for an experienced Engineer for Sanctions & Embargo screening squad. This position is with Corporate Bank - Transaction Surveillance Technology area. Transaction Surveillance Technology is an integral part of Cash Management and has been established as a first line of defense function to build appropriate controls to ensure regulatory compliance. The Sanctions and Embargo screening is a service within Transaction Surveillance, which provides near real-time, automated screening of transactions to ensure Anti Financial Crime compliance of the Deutsche Bank group and its various businesses. 


To strengthen our development team, we are looking for Software Engineers who can design, develop, and implement innovative solutions to achieve our goal. You would be working on an inhouse built system critical for payment flows that protects the Bank and its customers from financial crime. The system has High Availability as well as High Throughput and Low latency requirements, all the while ensuring low operational costs and adherence to the Banks software development standards.

Your key responsibilities


  • Understanding of initial requirement documents, Functional Requirement Document (FRD) and design & develop code for the same.
  • Ensure the required level of software quality with a focus on automated tests.
  • Ensure proper level of documentation.
  • Ensuring timely completion & delivery of project and extending pre and postproduction release support activities. 
  • Provide Level-3 technical support as part of reliability engineering team in line with DevOps culture.
  • Active contribution to toil reduction from production and improve automation. 
  • Implementation and compliance with bank policies (naming conventions, encryption, security settings, capacity, availability, and other non-functional requirements). 
  • Code reviews based on the four-eye principle as well as problem and root cause analysis. 

Your skills and experience 


  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer-Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent 
  • Total 7+ years of experience in IT industry with exposure to software development 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (analyses the technical defect, identify the root-cause, and provide workaround/permanent solution) 

Must have skills.


  • Programming: Java11+, REST, APIs, JSON, JPA, Spring Framework, Spring boot, Apache Camel, Junit, Mockito 
  • Query/Scripting:   SQL, shell script
  • Middleware: IBM MQ, Apache Kafka
  • Tools: Jira, Confluence, Git, Maven, Artifactory
  • Database: Oracle
  • Plattform: RedHat Linux, Docker  
  • Cloud : GCP (preferred) or relevant public cloud experience
  • Agile: Scrum

Nice to have skills.
