Role: IT Solution Architect, Global Planning SIOP (Kinaxis Rapid Response)

Location: Kharadi,Pune

The IT Solution Architect, Global Planning Systems SIOP, will design and collaborate on a roadmap of Global Planning Systems Management and Operations solutions that deliver products to market faster for Smith+Nephew Globally. The architect will partner with product owners and leaders to design and deploy quality solutions, consolidating global planning systems and planning & operations software into a core set and reducing the application footprint. The architect will translate technical solutions into business activities and vice versa, assessing & understanding the impact of changes. The IT Senior Planning Architect will own the design of Global Planning Systems technical solutions, ensuring they meet business outcomes and align with enterprise architecture standards. The incumbent will oversee solution build quality, ensure technical integrity and architectural compliance, and design optimal solutions using on-premises and cloud technologies.


What will you be doing?


  • With the team, owns architecture for sophisticated IS/IT Sr. Plannings to be deployed for S&N Global Planning Systems operations-related projects (releases and/or rollouts), including architectural requirements' gathering, fit/gap analysis, sprint reviews, cloud maturity, training, functional specification approvals, automated testing, configuration, data conversion, and solution governance in a hybrid on-premises and cloud architecture.
  • Drives solution consistency and assists in facilitating the change leadership interventions within Global Planning Systems Management/Operations and contributes to the Global Planning Systems IT continuous improvement by assessing the impact of the new requests on the core architecture.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, keeping up with industry and proactively advising the business of new capabilities that can help them support the company growth and strategy.
  • Performs Level 3 support for Global Planning Systems Management Enterprise software.
  • Updates documentation & practices and constantly looks for new ways to 'Shift Left' Global Planning Systems IT support so lower-cost models can be successful globally.
  • Data Modeling: Designs, maintains, and advises on corporate data structures, including entities, relationships, and attributes, using data analysis and quality assurance techniques.
  • Service Acceptance: Ensures timely delivery of quality products by evaluating project outputs against agreed criteria and collaborating with project managers.
  • Planning Architecture: Leads the development of architectures for complex planning solutions, balancing service quality and systems management requirements. Establishes architectural policy, coordinates design, and ensures standard alignment.
  • Specialist Advice: Provides leadership and guidance to promote specialist knowledge development. Maintains a network of experts and contributes to professional development planning.
  • Systems Design: Designs complex systems, applying appropriate methods and tools. Analyzes impact, manages risks, and reviews designs for technology use, resource efficiency, and system integration

What will you need to be successful?


  • Bachelor or master's degree Level or equivalent experience in a business or information Technology field
  • Should have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in global planning systems management or advanced planning systems, planning, and operations business solution architecture workspace.
  • Experience with ERP like SAP or MS Axapta (MS Dynamics 365) is required.
  • Prior Experience with Kinaxis (Rapid Response) application support, configuration, & development
  • Experience in information systems and applications—including APS (demand planning, supply planning, network planning, SIOP, and command & control center)—and project management, preferably in the regulated life sciences industry.
  • Certifications: KINAXIS certification preferred. APICS, or Supply Chain Certification SAFe, Agile CSM, is an advantage.
  • Good experience with sophisticated integrations, web applications, and SaaS configuration.
  • Should have experience working with cloud-based methodologies and toolsets.
  • Experience with AGILE project methodology and practice
  • Experience with Global Planning Solution product and technology demonstrations is preferred.
  • Extensive understanding of the medical device or life science industry, including cost drivers and value opportunities.
  • Ability to tie technical solutions to business solutions or prospect needs.
  • Ability to work and collaborate across teams without strategic direction
  • Understands the complexity of a supply chain network and drives consistency across multiple individual platforms, including a cloud-based data integration model.
  • Contributes to the selection of the requirements approach for projects, selecting appropriately from predictive (plan driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
  • Defines and leads prioritizing requirements definition and prioritization activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity.
  • Facilitates support from collaborators, encourages constructive challenge, and enables effective prioritization of requirements. Reviews requirements for errors and omissions.
  • Establishes the requirements baselines, acquires formal agreement to requirements, and ensures traceability to source. Investigates, runs, and applies authorized requests for changes to baseline requirements in line with organizational change policy.
