Job Description: Product Owner – IT


Experience:
Overall 10+ Years, with at least 6 Years in IT Product Ownership, preferably with experience in ServiceNow implementation.


Location:
Preference for Bangalore


The IT Product Owner will be responsible for defining the product vision, managing the product roadmap, and ensuring that the product meets the needs of the business stakeholders and aligns with the overall organizational goals. The Product Owner will work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, developers, and project managers to deliver successful ServiceNow implementations. The PO will be accountable for prioritizing requirements, creating and maintaining user stories, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and effective delivery of product features.


Responsibilities:


Define Product Vision & Strategy: Develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap based on business needs, stakeholder feedback, and strategic objectives. Manage Backlog: Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the highest-value features and requirements for the ServiceNow implementation projects. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, including IT, operations, and leadership, to gather and refine product requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals. User Stories and Epics: Develop clear, actionable user stories, epics, and features in collaboration with Business Analysts and Solution Architects, ensuring that all requirements are well-defined and ready for development. Sprint Planning: Collaborate with the Scrum Master and development team during sprint planning to ensure that user stories are properly sized and prioritized in the backlog. Solution Validation: Ensure that the delivered product meets the business requirements and the agreed-upon product vision. Validate solutions and provide feedback throughout the development lifecycle. Manage Scope and Requirements Changes: Oversee scope management by addressing any scope creep, managing changes in requirements, and ensuring proper documentation and stakeholder communication. Cross-functional Team Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Developers, and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure smooth delivery of features, from requirements gathering to solution testing and release. Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to product delivery and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve them promptly. Go/No-Go Decisions: Be the decision-maker for the "go/no-go" on releases, based on the business requirements, testing results, and readiness for production. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and document key product metrics, delivery timelines, and release notes to ensure stakeholders are kept informed about product progress. User-Centered Design: Advocate for the end users by ensuring that features are user-friendly and aligned with user needs.


Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. 10+ years of experience as a Product Owner in IT, with a strong understanding of ServiceNow platforms and ITSM/ITIL processes. Strong experience in managing product backlogs, writing user stories, epics, and prioritizing features in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban). ServiceNow expertise, including modules like ITSM, ITAM, and CSM, and familiarity with how these modules integrate into broader IT processes. Proven leadership in cross-functional collaboration with developers, designers, and stakeholders. Strong analytical skills, with a focus on delivering solutions that meet business goals while addressing user needs. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with Agile tools, such as Jira, for backlog management and sprint tracking. ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Application Developer (CAD) are a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive, customer-centric mindset. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
