IT Infrastructure & Operations Professional with Key Responsibilities:
- The IT Infrastructure & Operations Professional will be responsible for managing and supporting IT operations across Siemens Mobility India’s various office locations, factories, project sites, and upcoming project requirements.
- Manage Critical IT Infrastructure Operations: Ensure the smooth functioning of essential IT infrastructure, minimizing downtime, and promptly addressing operational issues.
- Handle Factory & project site Specific Escalations: Manage escalations from factories related to critical IT infrastructure issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize impact on production.
- Collaborate with Factory Teams: Work closely with factory teams to assess their IT infrastructure needs and deliver the required support promptly and effectively.
- Oversee IT Infrastructure for New Projects: Manage the IT infrastructure requirements for upcoming projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Incident Management and Resolution: Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of critical incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and adherence to SLAs.
- Proactively Address Infrastructure Demands: Anticipate and respond to emerging infrastructure requirements, enabling the organization to adapt to evolving business needs and technological advancements.
- Design, Implement, and Manage IT Infrastructure: Develop, deploy, and maintain robust IT infrastructure solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability to support business operations for SMO India.
- Coordinate with Corporate IT and SMO IT Teams: Act as a liaison with corporate IT, SMO IT, cybersecurity (CYS), site reliability engineering (SRE) teams, and IT outsourcing partners to align operations and ensure consistent support.
- IT Operations Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of IT operations processes, escalation paths, and resolution protocols to ensure knowledge transfer and operational consistency.
- Monitor IT Outsourcing Partner Performance: Ensure that IT outsourcing partners meet agreed service levels, addressing gaps in performance and driving continuous improvements.
- Ensure Cybersecurity and Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols to safeguard infrastructure, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory compliance.
- Implement Best Practices in Operations: Adopt and promote industry best practices, including ITIL frameworks, to enhance the efficiency and reliability of IT infrastructure operations.
- Monitor and Optimize System Performance: Continuously monitor servers, networks, and systems to ensure optimal performance and identify areas for improvement or upgrades.
- Oversee Cloud and On-Premises Environments: Manage cloud-based platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and secure data operations.
- Incident and Problem Management: Lead troubleshooting efforts for infrastructure-related issues, minimizing downtime, and conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including application development, cybersecurity, and business units, to align IT operations with organizational goals.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning: Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure quick recovery from unexpected events and maintain business continuity.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Engage with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring timely delivery of services, support, and solutions at optimal costs.
- Ensure Audit Readiness and Compliance: Regularly review IT infrastructure and operations against relevant frameworks (e.g., ISMS, ISO 27001, ITIL) and maintain up-to-date documentation, policies, and evidence to demonstrate compliance during internal and external audits.
- Coordinate Audit Activities: Collaborate with audit teams, IT stakeholders, and external auditors to provide required information, address findings promptly, and implement corrective actions to close identified gaps effectively.
- Implement Automation and Tools: Deploy automation tools and best practices to streamline infrastructure management and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain IT Policies and Documentation: Develop and maintain IT infrastructure policies, procedures, and technical documentation, ensuring transparency and knowledge sharing within the team.
Desired Skills:
- Educational Background: A completed degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s/Diploma) in IT, Computer Science, or Business Informatics. Alternatively, a comparable qualification combined with relevant additional certifications.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in managing IT infrastructure operations, preferably within a large technical organization or IT consulting environment.
- Technical Expertise: Proven expertise in IT infrastructure technologies, including servers, networks, storage, virtualization, and cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- ITIL Framework Knowledge: In-depth understanding of ITIL practices, including incident management, problem management, and change management.
- System Administration Skills: Practical experience in administering Windows and Linux systems, Active Directory, and database technologies (e.g., SQL, Oracle).
- Project Management Experience: Ability to manage IT infrastructure demands for new projects, including planning, deployment, and execution in an international environment.
- Vendor and Partner Collaboration: Experience working with outsourcing partners, vendors, and corporate IT teams to meet operational and project goals.
- Communication Skills: Highly self-motivated, customer-focused, and proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The following skills will be advantageous:
- Cybersecurity Understanding: Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and best practices to ensure secure IT operations.
- Additional Beneficial Skills: Knowledge of cloud-native technologies, automation tools, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python), and experience with hybrid cloud environments.
