This role emphasizes implementing secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions, managing workload migration from on-premises VMware to Azure, and optimizing performance post-migration using Azure-native tools. Additionally, the engineer will support the on-prem environment as a team member, contributing to new demands and solutions in line with company goals and industry best practices. Global responsibility includes supporting North America, Europe, and other regions across all company locations.
Your responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning
- Participate in capacity planning and develop long-term strategic goals for cloud and hybrid infrastructure with end-users and department managers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud infrastructure goals and address business system issues.
Acquisition & Deployment
- Coordinate with network engineering, business applications, and database administration to implement cloud infrastructure solutions following best practices.
- Conduct cost-benefit and ROI analyses for cloud services to guide management in decision-making.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud software and systems, supporting purchasing and deployment efforts.
Migration & Optimization
- Lead workload migration from on-premises VMware environments to Azure Cloud and Azure Stack HCI, ensuring a smooth transition to cloud-based operations.
- Leverage Azure-native tools for post-migration optimization, focusing on improving performance, resource utilization, and cost-efficiency for migrated workloads.
- Design and implement networking solutions within Azure to ensure robust, secure, and high-performance connectivity across cloud and on-premises systems.
- Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform to support efficient, repeatable, and reliable cloud environment configurations and deployments.
Operational Management
