A Day in the LifeMaster Data Management Services team streamlines the process of maintaining and accessing foundational data by serving up a trusted, single view of our patients, products, customers, suppliers and healthcare providers. We manage data as an asset, in a consistently structured and governed manner, in order to empower meaningful insights and transactions and enable our digital innovation to deliver better outcomes and efficiencies for our customers and patients. This is accomplished by implementing processes and technologies that instill discipline to ensure data is complete, consistent, timely, accessible, and accurate and adheres to global privacy rules. We aim to efficiently deliver reliable master data that is needed to create globally reaching devices and platforms which provide a competitive advantage for Medtronic.

We enable self-service for business and IT teams to access, utilize, understand all data – master and transactional, core and functional.

The Senior Technical Analyst is a critical role in the organization, acting as the data model and system data flow subject matter expert for Informatica SaaS MDM platform as well as Informatica Data Quality (IDQ). The role will lead the work of capturing and analyzing business and technical requirements and turning them into recommended solutions that align to the strategic vision and architecture for Master Data domains. The role will focus on the data model’s fit within the Digital Information Core and integration up and downstream as the enterprise source of truth within an ecosystem of curated and integrated data, reports, technology, and services that enable actionable insights.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Facilitate the necessary testing for new and existing technology.
  • Work independently and partner with end-users and business partners to assess Informatica SaaS MDM requirements across Master Data domains, match these requirements to objectives and guide them to the applicable processes and products including developing specifications and enhancements that will achieve the customers and business goals
  • Document and configure system specifications that conform to defined architecture standards, address business requirements, and processes.
  • Become a data knowledge expert in Informatica SaaS MDM solution to the extent of knowing the business needs and use, comparative to how the data flows within the system. 
  • Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity, which require a high degree of ingenuity, creatively, and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique, and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions
  • Develop data quality solutions utilizing Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) documenting data quality rules, applying to data quality dimensions
  • Drive process optimization initiatives maximizing business process results while continuously seeking opportunities to reduce operating costs and asset utilization and improve quality compliance:
    • Influence stakeholders by developing well-articulated situation analysis and business case for change
    • Influence stakeholders by developing roadmaps
    • Implementation of new processes or systems within Master Data area
    • Develop synergies and shared best practices across the global Master Data organization
  • Participate in and lead work within cross-functional and business integration initiatives, along the distribution value chain as project member representing Master Data Management to ensure that MDM requirements/principles are addressed.

Required Knowledge and Experience: 


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MCA, or MSc.
  • 1+ years experience with SQL in Snowflake or light data modeling.
  • 5+ years’ of IT experience.
  • 1+ years Master data experience/knowledge.
  • 1+ years technical or business analyst experience.

  • Detail oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand end-audience needs and translate them into requirements including experience creating user stories, wire frames and process flows.
  • Ability to analyze impact of change requests and determine system impacts.
  • Experience in all phases of the SDLC including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment and support.
  • Knowledge of Informatica MDM (or similar Master Data Management) product suite (MDM, IDQ, AXON).
  • Knowledge & experience with Winshuttle, creating & developing scripts and forms.
  • SAP experience in the areas of Master Data Management.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and ability to use SQL at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Experience creating and maintaining mapping documents that define data flow between systems.
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum development methodology and experience leading development teams.
  • Experience with implementations of Informatica MDM, SAP MDG, or other Master Data platform.
  • Experience with life cycle management tools such as HP ALM or Polarion.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI, Spotfire, etc.
  • Knowledge of SAP modules (ECC, GTS, APO).
  • Knowledge of the SAP data model and data structures and experience in mass data maintenance.
  • Knowledge of ERP system functionality and business processes.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with other departments like Finance, Procure to Pay, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Commercial Ops, and the ability to understand how those groups operate and use master data.
  • Experience with documentation control or data maintenance processes and procedures or equivalent customer service or finance experience.
  • Experience in working across global teams.
  • Understanding of the impact of Quality / Regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with information protection policies.
  • Healthcare industry / business knowledge or experience.
