About the team
FIS Digital One encompasses several integrated banking modules that will deliver an omni- channel banking experience for our customers and their employees, with a unified user experience and real-time access to customer, account and transactional data across all banking channels.
What you will be doing
We have several needs for API developers working in Java/Spring environments for our expanding modernization efforts. We are hoping to hire candidates from a variety of experience levels from entry level to senior in order to diversify our team and bring various ideas to the table.
- Provide application software development services and technical support across a suite of financial software products
- Develop program logic for new applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications
- Code, test, debug, document, implement and maintain software applications
- Design and develop APIs using with Java & Spring.
- Maintain, test and integrate application components.
- Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code
- Ensure system improvements are successfully implemented
- Analyze requirements and translate business requirements into product designs
- Write technical specifications and other forms of documentation
- Suggest technical alternatives and improves/streamlines processes and systems
- Complete project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations
- May participate in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations
- May provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals
- Other related duties assigned as needed
- Work in Agile environment following Scrum Methodologies.

System Design and Architecture Patterns - Layered Architecture, Microservices, Reactive Service, Domain Driven, Even-Driven Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
Design Principles and Patterns - SOLID, Design Patterns, MVC, MVVM, DI etc
Distributed Systems - Scalability, Fault tolerance, Fail-Over, Distributed Database, message queues, client-server model
Security - OWASP
, Software Security Principles, Secure Coding Practices, Authentication, Authorization, Encryption, Common Security Vulnerabilities. Client and server security
Cloud Computing - Virtualization, Containerization (eg Docker), Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure), Cloud Design Principles
Performance Optimization - Profiling, Caching & Content Delivery Networks, Compression, Load Balancing, Efficient Database Design, Vertical and Horizontal Scaling
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
- Overall 10+ years of Java, J2EE development
- Experience with modern micro profile based micro-services
- Enterprise Service design using Spring modules, Spring Boot, Web Flux, REST Services, ReactiveJs and Spring Cloud
- Experience with Kubernetes based platforms, OpenShift/Azure AKS/Amazon EKS
Experience with DevOps - Good knowledge data base RDBMS/DBMS, NoSQL
- Knowledge and exposure to all aspects of middle ware integration including cloud Experience in supporting and/or implementing complex integration projects.
- Knowledge of MongoDB, Apache Kafka, and Kubernetes
- Working experience in Agile framework
- In-depth knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Experience in using version control systems like SVN or Bit Bucket
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
- Willingness to share relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources.
- Excellent problem-solving, team and time management skills
- Resourceful and proactive information gathering and sharing skills.
Added bonus if you have:
- Angular UI experience and Cloud knowledge are preferable.
- Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Bit-Bucket)
- Experience working with cloud-based technologies.
- Knowledge of the banking industry
- Working knowledge of multiple IDEs and debug utilities
- Working knowledge of test-driven development
