Job Description

Job Summary:


Simulation is an integral part of the Industrial Software Hub. The position of Lead Engineer would report to PM and undertake engineering & proposals on projects for customers and users of simulation.


This role requires customer focus, sound judgment, effective communication skills, team management and quick learning abilities. Also, the candidate must be able to drive the projects and proposal process with close communication, coordination.
 


In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:


  • Conceptualize, implement and test process models, logic emulation as well as development of graphic user interface as required for a project. Study customer plant operations and control system, to see opportunities for improving performance,
  • Collect data from customer sites for projects/ proposals,
  • Support generating required project/ proposal documentation, 
  • Configuration of models and controllers per requirements of project,
  • Demonstrate technology offerings as well as project work you're doing to customers and third parties for acceptance during acceptance tests,
  • Participate in meetings with sales, solution consultants to understand the customer requirements, prepare cost estimation & optimization, using Tools and templates, prepare list of work you're doing and proposal schedule, prepare table of compliance, assist identifying Risks and Mitigation plan associated with technical solution,
  • Plan and allocate as well as monitor tasks required for successful execution of project to team members. Report progress, status and issues to PM/supervisor on a weekly basis,
  • Flexible to carry out any activity related to project or proposal engineering per instructions from PM/supervisor,
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with team members. Train and mentor newer engineers as well as project team members,

Who You Are:
  • BE /B. Tech in Chemical Engineering/ Petrochemical Engineering from a reputed institute. Selection will be done on merit and relevant experience.
  • Experience of 8-12 years in Dynamic Process Simulation.
  • Experience in Process Plant Operations will be an added advantage. 
For This Role, You Will Need:

Technical skills:


  • Ability to read P&IDs, PFDs, Equipment Datasheets and other applicable technical design input documents,
  • Adequate experience in use of dynamic simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS Steady State and Dynamics, Aspen Plus and Aspen Dynamics, UniSim, Dyn Sim, K-Spice, INDISS, Mimic, 
  • Adequate awareness of Aspen Tech’s products, process modeling software products and services,
  • Experience in project execution DTS/OTS - configuration and delivery, operation/ commissioning,
  • Worked on 3 to 4 simulation projects as Lead Engineer (preferably Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petro-Chemicals, Metals & Minerals, LNG),
  • Experience in leading Kick-Off Meeting, Acceptance Tests (MAT/MVT, FAT, SAT) and Trainings, 
  • Ability to lead multiple simulation projects in parallel,
     

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • BE /B. Tech Degree on equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering/ Petrochemical Engineering from a reputed institute. 
  • Experience of 8-12 years in Dynamic Process Simulation preferably in Aspen HYSYS Steady State and Dynamics, Aspen Plus and Aspen Dynamics and Mimic.
  • Experience in Process Plant Operations will be an added advantage.
