2LOD Issues Management Lead (Job Level P3 / Grade 11) Job Description


The Second Line of Defense Issues Management Lead for the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) division will be responsible for contributing to the issues management, risk treatment and risk aggregation processes ensuring efficient completion of day-to-day tasks along with supporting strategic initiatives to mature the program. Responsibilities will include:


  • Facilitate the ingestion of 2LOD identified issues including assigning owners, determining remediation plans, tracking to closure, escalating concerns, and validating closure
  • Support maturation of a 2LOD process to validate the closure of 1LOD issues on an ongoing basis while escalating concerns as they are identified
  • Support the expansion of the risk treatment and risk aggregation capabilities across the NFR division including documentation of methodology and procedure
  • Ensure appropriate escalation and handoffs to the Risk Treatment program and governance committees
  • Continuously monitor the effectiveness of the process and suggest improvements as needed including the establishment and maintenance of KPIs and KRIs
  • Support the risk aggregation reporting across the NFR risk themes
  • Interact with Risk Treatment and Aggregation leadership to clearly articulate progress on maturation of the program and strategic initiatives as they are implemented
  • Work across the lines of defense to coordinate changes, provide review and challenge, and respond to audit and regulatory requirements

Qualifications - External


  • 7+ years of Risk Management experience to include but not limited to: Cyber Resilience, Cybersecurity, Operational Risk Management, Third Party Management, Data Management, IT Risk and Control, and/or IT Audit
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, or equivalent certifications highly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of the inherent non-financial risks in the financial services industry
  • Experience with risk treatment and issues management functions and industry tools to support the program (i.e. ServiceNow, Coupa)
  • Analytical and communication skills required to summarize and analyze information
  • Organizational skills required to coordinate risk related activities with peers and senior executives
  • Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills
