As a Vice President in our Markets - Internal Controls team, you will be a key player in implementing a robust infrastructure around the governance of mandates managed within UCITS, AIFMD, MIFID, and other regulatory frameworks. You will ensure compliance with firm-wide frameworks and standards, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to our team's success.
Job Responsibilities
- Implementing and monitoring investment restrictions and guidelines; reporting breaches and maintaining records.
- Monitoring global exposure, liquidity, market, credit risk, validating VaR models and other risk metrics.
- Overseeing daily tasks and processes and investigating escalation alerts from portfolio managers, middle office, compliance.
- Designing and performing risk-based ongoing monitoring, agreeing on mitigating controls and escalating risks.
- Assessing new product initiatives and changes, and their impact on Mansart internal controls and supervisory requirements.
- Working with the teams to design, assess, and review appropriate governance, processes, policies, and procedures, and keeping them up to date.
- Ensuring compliance with ongoing regulatory reporting and working with the wider team to advise on and implement regulatory change.
- Assisting with the preparation of management information for committees and management meetings.
- Conducting due diligence and maintaining oversight on external service providers and outsourced functions.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- You have a detailed understanding of UCITS fund rules and risk management requirements under UCITS and AIFMD.
- Relevant experience in investment risk or portfolio oversight in asset management is crucial to the role
- You will be expected to be able to manage relationships with the businesses at all levels, including senior management.
- Able to work independently and having sufficient experience to know when to escalate an issue is essential.
- Being proactive, able to think critically about the information presented to them, comfortable with subjective situations, and ready to ask appropriate questions and effectively challenge where needed.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of funds and/or management company activities including UCITS, AIFMD and MIFID regulations, is preferred.
- Some experience working in audit, compliance, risk, or control management for an asset management company would be an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
