Job Title: Intern - Systems Verification and Validation Engineer

Duration: 6 Months
Job Summary:
As an intern in the Systems Verification and Validation team, you will assist in ensuring that Medtronic's medical devices meet the highest quality standards through rigorous system testing. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will contribute to system verification and validation activities, including executing test protocols, troubleshooting failures, and supporting the overall product development process. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in medical device testing while working in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with System Verification: Support the execution of system verification tests to ensure compliance with design requirements and standards for medical devices.
- Test Protocol Development: Work alongside senior engineers to help develop and refine test protocols for system verification and validation.
- Test Execution: Participate in manual system integration test activities, including manual testing, automated testing, stress testing, alpha testing, and beta testing.
- Troubleshooting: Help troubleshoot test failures and assist with identifying the root cause of issues. Work closely with internal systems and functional experts to resolve any problems encountered during testing.
- Data Collection and Reporting: Assist in collecting and analyzing test data, contributing to reports and documentation of results to provide insights to the broader team.
- End-User Validation: Assist in the execution of validation activities with real end-users in simulated or real-use environments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and regulatory experts, to ensure seamless testing processes.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ,ECE, Electrical Engineering, , Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of systems engineering principles and testing methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn about system verification and validation in a regulated environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to medical device testing, or any experience in testing regulated products is a plus.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools or programming languages for test automation.
- Knowledge of medical device regulations and quality processes (such as FDA requirements) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of test equipment and test environments related to systems engineering.
