Who we are looking for:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midrange MQ Specialist with expertise in OpenVMS, Tandem, and IBMi technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the IBM MQ infrastructure across these platforms. The role demands a deep understanding of messaging middleware, systems architecture, and enterprise integration.


.HYBRID: This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.


As Midrange MQ Support you will have:


  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years - direct experience building and supporting Midrange MQ in large enterprise environments
  • 5 years of experience supporting Midrange MQ on Tandem, OpenVMS and IBMi
  • Strong experience in Install and configure MQ on OpenVMS, Tandem, and IBMi systems.
  • Experience in set up and maintain MQ objects such as queues, channels, listeners, and services.
  • Experience in monitoring and manage the health of MQ environments to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Expert in applying patches, updates, and fixes as necessary to maintain system integrity.
  • Provide second-level support for MQ-related issues and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
  • Ability to collaborate on engineering documentation including:
    • Requirements documents
    • Engineering documents
    • Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to work across technology teams when required.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelors or Masters degree
  • 5-10 years of direct experience building and supporting MQ on OpenVMS, IBMI and Tandem in large enterprise environments
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to develop engineering documentation including: Requirements documents, Engineering documents, Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to work across technology teams with ease.
  • Experience working on large projects in technical leadership role
