Job Description
Summary:Actively participate in all actions delegated to a global team of IC Experts focused on the development of Aptiv’s Hardware Platforms for Active Safety & User Experience automotive electronic systems in the area of semiconductors. This role includes multiple facets of the APTIV’s semiconductors strategy development, including: launch of new semiconductors and IC related technologies, constant engagement with semiconductors manufacturers; maintenance of PPAPs for automotive semiconductors, support for problem solving, being active contributor to R&D activities in the area of ICs and development of all annual KPIs to assure positive measurable contribution to the business.
Your Role:- Work on APTIV’s semiconductor strategies for key areas: Sensors (camera, radar, sound), Infotainment and Domain controllers (safety and body)
- Engagement with advanced engineering, global start centers, design teams, product lines and purchasing to assure proper sourcing of needed semiconductor technologies, effective technology implementation, advisory role for the IC applications, support for creation of roadmaps
- Defect free launch of new semiconductors for production in accordance to cost and timing requirements. Closely work with suppliers and support synchronization of semiconductor development schedules to align with program deliverables
- Involvement in the engagement activities with the important / high risk suppliers to drive “safe launch” of new ICs.
- Early detection and preparation of countermeasures for all potential risks related the semiconductor market
- Support/lead on time PPAPs of automotive semiconductors and upgrade part PPAP requirements to assure necessary quality/reliability for current day product lifetime expectations (AEC-Q and beyond for global needs)
- Engagement in the discussions with APTIV’s customers (in coordination with product line leadership) with regards to semiconductor plans, issue resolution, etc.
- Be actively engaged in the R&D activities of the group in the area of semiconductors. Share the knowledge and experience with team members and APTIV’s community.
- Support actions which ensure that Aptiv RFQ proposals and advanced development contain the recommended core technology to enable 70% re-use of the HW platform.
Your Qualifications:- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferably)
- 2+ years of experience related to semiconductors, ICs, SoCs, ASICs in industry or 5+ years of experience related to semiconductors, ICs, SoCs, ASICs in industry and academia
- Fluency in English. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong focus on interpersonal skills – willingness to develop
- Ability to solve problems – creativity
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):- PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Holding similar position for at least 5 years
- 10+ years of experience related to semiconductors, ICs, SoCs, ASICs, including work for semiconductors supplier
