Job Summary
- Acts as a consultant and partner to the company businesses and functional organizations.
- Drives the people strategy and organizational design, and the process of transformation, talent management, and workforce planning.
- Leads change initiatives and implements specific HR strategies to achieve organization goals and objectives. Aligns performance management and reward systems to drive and reinforce desired behaviours.
- Ensures HR programs and plans are aligned to the business priorities and monitors effectiveness through the tracking of key measures.
- Balances corporate, function, geographic and business needs in deploying HR programs to the business unit. Collaborates with HR program/policy/process owners to deliver effective HR programs.
- Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert.
- Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods.
- Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
- Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients.
- Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains relationships with key decision- makers at the top of the business, business unit, or function. Uses extensive business or function knowledge to drive the execution of a wide spectrum of HR programs.
- Proactively engages in strategic business planning where there is HR impact in order to ensure successful implementation of HR programs and processes.
- Contributes to the development of the change management strategy within the business to support the implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
- Manages HR programs within the business or function. Supervises the complex quantitative and qualitative analyses of financial and workforce data.
- Represents the needs of the business or function on an ongoing basis to maintain consistent plans between HR and the business or function in program implementation.
- Manages and leads priority projects that support organization-wide transformation initiatives.
- Identifies the need for new or improved HR processes and drives the development and implementation of those processes.
- Collaborates with senior colleagues in the centres of expertise in order to apply sufficient HR resources to meet the business needs.
Education and Experience
- First level university degree; advanced university degree preferred.
- Typically 6-10 years of experience in multiple HR functions and/or a generalist role.
- Typically has experience designing and/or implementing HR programs globally or within a large business unit.
- Experience partnering with managers to deliver HR solutions is preferred.
