Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in people operations, managed services, contingent workforce or human resources
  • Experienced in making complex and time-sensitive decisions in a professional setting 
  • Ability to dive into ambiguous situations, understand motivations, generate and communicate options, and drive to an effective resolution
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities combined with a bias to action
  • Ability to shift rapidly between the big picture and details without getting stuck in either
  • Strong customer service orientation framed by exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information, personal integrity, excellent judgement, and high ethical standards
  • Exposure to staffing/external workers, managed service provider, HR/vendor management/Procurement data systems is a plus 

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will join our External Workers Asia Center of Excellence (CoE), located in the McKinsey office in Gurugram. Working with the Asia team, as part of a global External Workers service line, you will have the opportunity to handle one of our critical processes, the management of the External Workers. 
The firm retains External Workers to help support both our client and internal work. McKinsey engages External Workers for a variety of reasons, including as expert advisors for client work, for projects, to fill short term capacity needs, or as part of a wider collaboration/outsourced model where another organization is better positioned to do the work.
The COE that you will be a part of ensures that the above is done in a compliant, efficient and methodical manner, working seamlessly with Optimize (our procurement organization), other internal stakeholders (managers, functional heads, Partners, etc.), and external stakeholders (vendors, etc.). 
WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will serve as a trusted adviser to Asia-based colleagues and as a thought partner to functional stakeholders on the topic of engaging, overseeing, and terminating External Workers, with a focus on providing guidance to cells on how to properly engage External Workers and mitigate risk.  
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of External Workers engagement requests, as well as the resolution of complex individual Advisor cases. This includes the creation and maintenance of records in firm systems.
You will leverage people data to make informed decisions and will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our data, as well as proactively identifying and rectifying inconsistencies and driving process improvement. You will be a critical line of defense in ensuring the compliant management of our external workforce, flagging situations that could create risk. You will also play an important role in championing External Workers processes and programs in partnership with the global counterparts, GEO HR teams and functional stakeholders such as (Procurement, Legal, Finance, Risk, etc.).
